"Waiting for buyer to confirm refund received" is the message in the return/refund details.
How long does the buyer have to confirm that they received it? I refunded on April 10th.
Thanks.

Hi @gloryglorygifts . It will close in 10 business days if the buyer does not dispute the partial refund.

I have honestly never viewed that message before.
I just refunded for a discount not taken and it took about 10 minutes from start to finish. Ebay sent one message when the refund was initiated and one message when it was completed.
Now, whether or not the buyer's payment source received it immediately is another story.
But I have never seen that message so of course I am very interested in responses.

It's still showing in my HUB as an open return, so it's driving me crazy! Hopefully we will both get an answer.

Was it a partial refund?
Depending on how the buyer paid, it could be a little while before they receive the refund.

I got two refunds this week from combined purchases from two sellers.
Basically, I get the money returned back on my card that I used quickly...same day.
Might be because of my great bank.
I get an email in my inbox of emails of a refund from the seller...not in eBay.
And in my purchased of item specifics it states the refund given...plus it is broken down in many parts of how the refund was given.
It all happens pretty quick I would say...at least for me.

Yes, it was a partial refund because it was mailed to him in brand new, unopened, condition and he ripped the packaging and stuck his invoice into it as well as a freebie that was included, when he returned it. I was only allowed to issue up to a 10% reduced refund.

So maybe it is taking longer because of the way that he paid me. In this day and age I think 2 weeks is a long time for something to clear.

that’s unrelated
when you utilize seller protections to withhold up to 50% on altered items, buyer gets 10 biz days to dispute before eBay auto closes and, if your funds are on hold, releases that partial amount still on hold.

A partial refund to an open claim from the buyer?
The buyer has to close it from my past experience...otherwise eBay will eventually do it.
And some buyers don't care about closing the claim of a refund even if you nag them...LOL

So it all should clear up by tomorrow and my funds released because today is the 10th business day. Got it. Thank you!

I highly doubt this customer will close it. I'll just wait for ebay to do it. Thank you.

Yes, it cleared up in 10 business day. It's gone today. Thank you to all that answered the question.
