On Oct. 14, 2024, I purchased an item, but it took forever to ship, so I refunded it. A total of $31.65 was sent on Oct. 31. I never checked back on the item since, and then bought one similar to it for less.
Cut to this morning, I woke up to a notification saying that the item I refunded had been out for delivery. This seemed strange since I had refunded it before it shipped. Apparently it only shipped yesterday, on the 26th from what USPS tells me. At 2:35pm, eBay told me that the item had delivered, but when I go outside to check, there's nothing. Nothing in the mailbox, nothing outside the door, nothing.
USPS says I can't file an inquiry because it shipped more than 60 days ago. But I checked and it said it was delivered to my front door/porch. What can I do?

Did you get your refund earlier?

Your post doesn't make sense.
You bought an item.
It took forever to ship so you refunded?
Are you the buyer or the seller?
If you are the seller that refunded your buyer why would you expect to receive anything if you didn't ship.
If you are the buyer that requested a refund for non receipt of an item you purchased and received your refund, tracking says it was delivered but you didn't receive anything? Why even worry about it since you were refunded?

I am the buyer. Yes, I refunded. I'm worried about it because it's a special edition of a video game, including all content. After I got refunded, I purchased the normal edition, which doesn't come with anything.

You mean YOU were refunded?
You stating 'I refunded' means YOU refunded someone else.
Anyway, doesn't matter. It's not yours anymore, you were refunded so simply not your concern.

Yes, I WAS refunded, sorry. And I think it is my concern. Mine or not, there WAS supposed to be a package delivered to me, tracking number and all. But it's not there. And I can't do anything about it because it's "not mine anymore". Unless another package was shipped to me in its place, which is likely.

If that order was canceled and refunded, don't think you would be receiving anything from it.
Are you expecting another order?

There isn't a seller on the planet that would refund you all your Money and then 'ship' you another one 2 months later- for free (which would be 'for free' because they refunded you).
Yes, you were SUPPOSED to receive the item.
Seller refunded you.
You are now NOT supposed to receive that item.
So, that transaction is long dead and gone.
You will NOT be receiving anything.

Buyers can't refund they can request a refund, sellers refund buyers. So you didn't refund anyone you received a refund.

Sounds like it was late being delivered and the seller refunded but did not have the package intercepted. It was eventually delivered but since you say it wasn't there then maybe a porch pirate nabbed it.
If you got a refund don't worry about what happened or didn't happen.

@isaac-82 It seems like your seller refunded you for an item that must have been delayed or presumed lost, and then you bought a similar game from another seller but this one didn't include any extra content.
Much later you found out the game you originally bought that does include extra content was out for delivery, but when you went to get it the package wasn't there.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you were looking forward to keeping a game you were already refunded for because it came with the extras you clearly wanted and you saw a way to have it for free.
I don't know of any law that forbids a person from taking advantage of a situation where a delayed package suddenly arrives, but you might get bad karma for planning to keep the money and the item.
I assume that was your plan because otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned in POST 4 how special that original game was and that it included extras the one you had to replace it with didn't.
It doesn't sound like you were thinking about returning it to sender... but I guess all of this is moot since a thief apparently got to it first. 😆

You are a buyer or a seller?
Post is so confusing and hurts to keep reading it.

You were refunded. Case closed.
