Hi,
I don’t seem to be able to find a way of contacting ebay directly about this so trying here.
I moved into a house earlier in the year and every couple of weeks i receive an item being returned to an ebay seller, maybe a previous occupant of the property.
I have been returning them to sender but it keeps happening, about 10 times now.
I opened the last one and found the seller via the item number on the paperwork. I’ve messaged them twice but no response!
Is there any way I can report this to ebay?
Many thanks🙂

Especially if it happens multiple times and it has information on the label indicating it is eBay related when i happen to be an eBay seller. Absolutely would open the package by the third occurrence.

I'm still leaning towards seller drop shipping from China to the US. Return shipping to the UK would be more than the item is worth. Most likely counterfeit.

“Federal” won’t apply in the UK😄
Having exhausted all other avenues I am simply trying to resolve what must be an issue for numerous people now. I only have the best intentions I can assure you. I came on here for help after all!
If i ever require your judgement in future I will let you know👍

Thanks, but I’m in the uk and our regular postal service does not collect, and I am rarely home when they deliver - they leave packages in an outside cupboard.
I may try royal mail again and see if they can auto-return them to the senders.

I will do so right away! And then go on the run....😄

Oh please. Feel free to specify which federal crime this is.
Even the USPS doesnt care what the name on the address line is. It only matters whether the package is correctly delivered to the address shown which apparently it is.

Oh! Sorry since this is the US board I assumed you were in the US.
You may want to post this on the UK board and see if someone there can help.
There are some differences in the UK we do not have or deal with...

I’ve had about 10 now and getting sick of taking them back to the post office - they said there’s nothing they can do.
I don’t know if it’s some kind of scam, but whatever, someone is losing out here and i just want to get it sorted.
You don't have to go to the Post Office if the item has RM tracking ... Royal Mail offers pick-up:

OK, you tried the post office. you tried the sellers name and eBay.
At a certain point-those now belong to you. You probably should ask a lawyer what you need do to take possession of the items.

I wonder why the seller is having so many returns?
What does their selling account look like; are they actively selling, do they have a lot of negatives building up...?
If the seller is not responding to you or why they are using your address, deepens the mystery.
A normal seller would be tripping over themselves to correct the address. Perhaps something happened to them. Perhaps there is some sort of scam going on?
Not much you can do other than keep writing "return to sender" on the packages or talking with the postmaster for their guidance.

Cheers, didn't realize you were in the UK...
You should be commended for trying to do the right thing. If this happened in the US many Americans would think the items were free gifts. You've tried and it's documented. Do you ever shop at OxFam? It's my dream, sounds so wonderful...
