After all these years, received my 1st negative for a $10 item (flag pole bracket) that included free shipping. No where in my listing does it mention nor shows screws are provided. Yet, the buyer posted a negative that I didn't include screws and that he contacted me and that I didn't respond to his question. I never received any messages or contact from him/her. I recently contacted buyer asking maybe they posted negative to the wrong seller but haven't heard anything and it's now been 3 days. I have asked ebay for assistance to remove the negative but haven't heard from them either. Maybe I should call them instead, but has anyone else had any luck getting a negative feedback removed?

1) in big letters, put this in listing:
NO SCREWS INCLUDED, you need to buy type at hardware store for your mount surface (e.g., wood, metal, etc.)
2) RAISE your price to $14.99
3) REPLY to feedback rec'd:
No screws shown / described. No msgs from buyer. We'd love to help.

I see no screws for mounting, so I would not expect them.
Just a suggestion.
Do as you may, but it would be better if only one bracket was shown in the photo.
Some buyers do not read. eBay does not require them to read.
Photo, and description should match.
You may eventually get a buyer that expects to get more than one bracket by looking at a photo of 3 or more.

Try always to put something about what "might be expected" in do it your self stuff....
Hardware, batteries, box............. NOT included.........
It may be removable since screws were NOT mentioned in the listing, so the buyer was expecting something not promised.... I'd call ebay..........

I have to agree here, especially because flagpole brackets need strong screws. Best to send the correct ones along with the item, so that a doofus customer doesn't try mounting it with three half-inch screws (or even worse, nails), only to have it fall down on the first windy day.
Take one bracket to the hardware store, and pick out the thickest oval-head or raised-head wood screws that will fit the holes and are around 1½" long. Brass ones will match the bracket finish pretty well. Screws are cheap, and will enhance the "buyer experience" for your sale.

Just performed a quick Amazon search (because it's easiest), and every flag-pole holder available for sale on the first page had the screws included.
Understandable to maybe expect mounting hardware, but some might not.
The reason................. bracket mounting surfaces can vary greatly.
OP could state no mounting hardware included.
OP could state that the buyer should purchase the "correct mounting hardware" base upon what type of surface that they are mounting to. Wood, concrete, brick, metal

You really should've noted in the listing that screws were not included. Regardless, buyers aren't allowed to demand items that weren't stated or shown in the listing. Its against ebay's policies. You never offered any screws, so ebay should remove the comment no problem. Just call ebay and demand it be removed.

A question for those more knowledgeable.
As the seller has already replied to the negative, would eBay if so inclined, remove the entire negative, or just the comments?
Removing just the comments would not be good. The reply explains that the buyer was expecting something not there.

Anything that would normally sell with the item should be explained in all caps if it doesn't in yours. Normally a bracket would come with screws.

If the item is used, and it's not in the picture nor description, I don't anticipate mounting screws.
If it's new, then yes. I expect mounting screws.
I wouldn't leave a negative feedback over it though.
I have a hardware store down the street I can pick up screws from.
I'm curious, did you also fail to include the screwdriver for the mounting screws? shame on you. 😉

Screwdriver?
Don't want no stinkin' screwdriver. I want a Milwaukee cordless drill driver combo with a spare battery included. Don't care if it isn't in the photo:)

No screws shown in the listing.
No mention of it coming with screws in the listing.
They lied about contact you (ebay can verify that).
I think there is a GOOD chance of getting that feedback removed.
Then when you get a chance, as everybody is suggesting, "idiot proof" that listing so that a 3rd grader will know it does not come with screws.

From first hand experience. Ebay will remove the entire feedback and reply.
