Recall Policy Violations

Hello, I recently had a listing taken down as there is an active recall on the product. I am an electronics repair store and this particular product is an ASUS Z690 Maximus Hero motherboard. The listing that was actually removed was for a different product that does not have any recalls active, I'm not sure how the mistake happened.

The issue was remedied through contacting customer support which was quite helpful. The point of this post is I'd like to hear people's opinions on this type of matter and dealing with recalled products. The actual recalled product was recalled due to a capacitor on the board being reversed by the factory, and later serial numbers were not impacted by the recall. Correcting this issue is trivial for a shop like mine however this raises concerns on actually selling the product on Ebay.

1. If recalled products have their respective issues repaired, are you able to sell them on Ebay? The manufacturer never officially repaired them, it was easier to issue refunds and have customers purchase another board, pretty wasteful for a $0.10 part being installed the wrong way on a $600 product.

2. Has anyone else had account issues from too many listings of recalled items such as suspension?

3. Is it better to just avoid recalled products like the plague? Customer support asked for the serial number of the product in the listing that was accidentally removed so I assume they are able to cross reference recalled serial numbers making it safe to sell unaffected serial numbers of the same product.

I saw quite a few people selling these as "open box" clearly unaware of the fire hazard so I understand Ebay's position on the matter and am mainly looking to avoid any potential account issues with the platform.

I would avoid recalled products! It's not worth the headache to potentially have ebay remove the listings from your store &/or have problems with the buyers.

Avoid relisting. The others are still available because they haven't been caught yet. Feel free to use the report button to report the others.

I had a ring doorbell taken down due to recall about 6 month ago. I just checked and the Ring store itself has it listed and has been selling them all along. Seems just like everything else it's arbitrary. I would hold off for a month or two then relist it.
