As far as I can tell, that just means that you've clicked on that link recently.
But the op said that some of their descriptions were in red so I don't think that they are referring to the same thing as you are.

Just in the last couple days eBay has changed the colors of hyperlink text (incorrectly). Now there is zero difference between the current active link and previously visited link. They are both the same color (red).
This means that when you "mouse over" a previously visited link you can no longer detect that is is selected. For never visited links (blue / black) you can see how it is supposed to work and it changes color to show it is selected. That way if hit the enter key or tap, you know that link will be opened. It has a purpose.
If it was working properly, previously visited links would be shown in purple, so when you mouse over that purple link you can see a change from purple to red and then back to purple. It changes from purple to red until the mouse (or cursor on a touch device) moves away from that link.
Some sites use underline instead of turn from purple to red since it is a bit easier to see what is selected. So this IS a new bug - probably trying to fix something else but forgot to do basic testing before putting it live. Ouch.
BTW if OP has hyperlinks in their descriptions. It could cause then to show as red after clicking on them. Need a screen shot to be sure on OPs issue.

I've noticed that too except some titles are red, not description. Was wondering what that is as well.
