I am in the UK and have been on eBay since 2001. I am wondering if there is a similar problem in the US....
I have sold about 8 items in the last 30 days. I have had issues with 3 of my sales :
2 of the 8 of the buyers are unhappy with their purchases. It was clear they did not read the listing. It was not my fault, everything was detailed correctly and plenty of photos. I was surprised they are complaining, as they things they are complaining about was already mentioned in the listing.
A third buyer, was a nice lady, bought my item. She made made an innocent remarks on eBay message 'I hope it fits'. To which, I decided to ask further questions and found the item would not be suitable. We agreed to cancel the sale. So that one was not an issue, as I did not incur shipping cots.
I am wondering, if this is happening because people are using eBay from their smartphones. So they are not reading through everything the listing as they would if they were looking on a browser on a laptop or desktop. May be they buyers are just reading the title and not going into the item description and condition.
There has been some suggestions the eBay app, is cutting down the description. Example "Printer in Good condition, but with causes paper jams sometimes", might be listed as "Printer in Good condition".
Have people seen more of this?
I want happy buyers, but I can't do this, if the eBay app is not presenting the information correctly to buyers. Buyers might feel cheated, but so would sellers if they have to pay return shipping costs.

When you're creating listings,
do you use eBay's Mobile Friendly checker,
to see if your listings will read-well on mobile devices

I’m on a smartphone and I have no problems reading your listings. 1st shot is the when you click the listing. 2nd shot after I click read more.
I think it’s just some people in general don’t read, not just mobile users.
Good Luck!
