RIP

Shocked to see the end of Toolhaus especially after using it a few days ago.  And yes, the ID I checked deserved to go on the BBL.  I guess we're back to not knowing.

It was a good run.

Well, none, because for feedback in the past 12 months, you can just click on the number in the box at the top of the seller's feedback page. When eBay introduced this feature, there was a significant drop in Toolhaus traffic.

Re: RIP

It helped a lot to review the entire history, both for buyers & sellers, and for helping others on the discussion boards.

Just one example:  There was a buyer (and occasional seller) who started coming to a category-specific board wanting other posters to join in trashing specific sellers (this was years before mods would quickly remove such posts).  She'd get crazy-pants angry and abusive when no one joined in.

Using Toolhaus helped to quickly and easily see this buyer had a regular pattern of abusing and extorting newbie sellers - and only newbie sellers, with less than 10 feedback.

And you could easily spot the possible reason for it: she had received an unreasonable-sounding negative for her first time selling. So she'd spent years taking it out on seller newbies, and when just leaving negs wasn't enough, started trashing on the boards after leaving a neg. Although she didn't stop negging newbies, she stopped trashing them on the boards when she realized how easily everyone could review her history.

No, sorry my post was worded poorly.

eBay provides an easy look at the past 12 months.  To see ALL of a members negs/neutrals (beyond the one year mark) takes a lot more work -hence my reference to 10,000 feedback in the past 6 months.  Except for new members who rack up a lot of feedback in a short time, if someone is getting thousands of feedback a month then the potentially multiple years record will be long, too long to easily scroll through.

Re: RIP

It also provided 'false positives'.
