I see the Quick View "Condensed" version of the Listing Page is showing up again on my PC when I click on items in ebay stores. This view provides no detailed condition section, nor does it contain a description section. A buyer can choose to click through to see the full listing page, or can go straight to check out and buy without ever reading a detailed condition/description.
The buyers can look at the photos, but, unlike the actual listing page, he cannot hover over them or click them to enlarge them, thus possibly missing visual information about the items condition. And , if the seller has also included a video, that video does not appear in the Quick View at all. (ebay encourages us to use video, and one reason to use it is to highlight condition for used items)
So, my questions for which ever team is involved with this:
Why is this being tested in the first place?
(Or, it is already being rolled out?)
If we are going to get this , will it be confined to stores, as it seems to be now?
Is there any chance ebay will revise it to include:
the detailed condition statement if seller has provided one?
The ability to enlarge Gallery Photos by hovering over the photo in Quick View?
Add in the Video (if seller provided one) , with the ability to play it from the Quick View, or perhaps clicking on the video takes the buyer to the full listing, where buyer can watch the video?
Example of Quick View:

No problem, I understand you may have questions and that is fine. Some piled on thinking this is a disaster and they will be losing all kinds of buyers and having more returns. I just happen to disagree with that.

Its simple. This layout will make it more prone for buyers to buy without having item details in their face, and will create more INAD issues for sellers. Having them have to click a button to get the details - they aren't going to do that. Its hard enough to get them to read the details when all they have to do is scroll down.

I am sure ebay thought of it, but they don't care because INADs are more of seller **bleep** to deal with, not ebay.

If they are now just showing quick views of items why were we harassed for MONTHS, and still are, about item specifics? Seems to me that they are trying to push out the market that made them what they are today and that is the resellers. It's pretty crystal clear, and now the drop in sale threads are explained for you all. Pretty sad imho.

This would be a nightmare for Motors, as it doesn't show the vehicle fitment chart (which is STILL bugged for YEARS!? Come on eBay!) or description which gives important fitment information. Such as, "Manual" or "Automatic" isn't included in their fitment chart or their "vehicle selection tool".
So if people use the eBay tool to search for items by vehicle, it doesn't even ask if their vehicle is Auto or Manual - meaning eBay will tell them "This item is compatible" even if it might not be! They NEED to see the information we enter in notes and description to know if it's correct or not.

I'm not sure which would be a better word. Filtered, diluted, missing. Maybe all of the above. Goal to make everything a challenge to find? If it is, they are doing an awesome job!!!
Might be better to...

Again, a basic function of the item specifics is to enable to item to be found in eBay's search - the more relevant IS's are used, the more chances a search query has to bring up what the individual is looking for. They'll operate in search whether there's a quick view or not - doesn't matter.
My own problem with the quick view involves my knowledge of human nature.*
*not optimistic.

I expect some of you have yet more to come on .com.
On .uk some of us had that pop up nonsense last month. What some here are now getting is the truncated description. Where all but a few lines at the top show and the rest of the description fades away.
Yes there is a "show more" button but why? It's totally unnecessary on a pc with a big screen.
Have the programmers, and I use that term very loosely, gone crazy? Are they undercover Etsy workers?

@bennotbill some of us are getting the truncated descriptions here in the US too. 🙁

The "Code as Craft" lot, working toward stack velocity.

Hey - you beat me to it. 😊
devon@ebay : They have had three days to stew over those questions. Please ping them for some solid answers - today if possible before everyone disappears for the weekend. Thank you!

I'm not sure my "tag" up above worked properly.
More people are seeing the Quick View, and once again, ebay seems to be leaving us in the dark about just what we are seeing. This would be a good opportunity for ebay to display some of that "transparency" and "seller engagement" we keep hearing about.
So, if you could pass my original post's questions onto the proper team(s), it would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Hey @my-cottage-books-and-antiques! I can make to sure to have your first post passed along to the correct team.
Hi devon@ebay, I notice that it's been a solid week now since the initial exchange above. Can you get back to them for some answers, please?

Hey @a_c_green! I have talked with the team and what I can share is limited. I can confirm that the team is doing test of the listing view on desktop. As updates on the test can be shared I will be sure to let you know.
