Hello. I have a motorcycle for sale and today I received a question about the Frame number on the headstock, the Vin Plate on the frame and the engine number. The person that asked about these requires a photo of them all. This strikes me as a bit odd. Is it?

Maybe not. The data allows a dealer to see if it was ever wrecked and they are likely looking to see that everything matches up.
If you find it odd, ignore and await another Buyer.
Motorcycles here are selling quickly and for high prices. It is summer, gas is high and MPG on a cycle is very high, as you know. Very in-demand here. You should have no issues selling it, if title is free.

Maybe... but I don't know what they could do with the info that could harm you. Hmmm... 🤔

I’m a bit concerned about the information being cloned if I’m honest.

Such info can be used to copy your listing and use it to scam folks out of money...Usually by listing such on off of ebay sites to scam.
Hey if the numbers match they can verify it when they register the thing...
Do be sure they do for you sake....

Could be a member of law enforcement looking for stolen motorcycles.
Could be somebody whose motorcycle was stolen and checking to see if it's listed on eBay.
Could be somebody wanting to make sure it's a stock company manufactured motorcycle and not a basket case that was put together with aftermarket parts and pieces.
Could be somebody wanting to make sure it was not wrecked then repaired with other parts. Blown engine switched out for another, etc.
I would provide the information.
