Question about an open case , what to do

I have a case a buyer opened for reason : doesn't match description or pictures. Both are lies. The buyer didn't read full description that it was for PARTS & REPAIR ONLY. Written in the title and description several times and under the category for PARTS & REPAIR under jewelry.  Do I have to accept the return? OR is this a buyers remorse? I can't remember since I never had one of these. It is actually a buyers remorse and they added they did not read description or look at any of the pictures. IT was in right category, the brands I mentioned are definitely in the box I shipped and in the description. Buyer is being a complete jerk and I even added special pieces extra that were worth more than the entire box I send and the buyer got 50% off my asking price on top of it. They keep bugging me for return label now.

I have NEVER lied in a description and definitely would not just come up with brands of the items out of the air and put in the description. I am frustrated beyond belief. I am sure I am not going to get back all the items and I have a feeling they are going to take out the items I put in the description that were in box that I shipped. Just to make me or try to make me look like a liar. I have sold many of these for much more money and never had a problem.

Also complained it was mostly women's stuff. I said that in the description!! Also shows it in the detailed pictures.

So do I have to send a label for return or can I close case? Thanks.

Question about an open case , what to do

No problem.

I went ballistic on an Amazon seller early in the pandemic - a container of chocolate covered almonds arrived as a solid chunk melted together.

Wrote to seller. They asked for pics. Perfectly normal, I obliged.

Next email floored me. Return for refund.

You want me to go out in a blankety blank PANDEMIC to return something RUINED AND UNUSABLE?!?! ?!?!?!?!

Not to mention they’d crammed it in a Tyvek, which was now cut apart so I had nothing to ship it back in (I’m with my daughter for the lockdown).

And she was pregnant and due ANY MINUTE!

I’m for sure not risking THEM for melted candy!!!!

That’s the other end of the extreme, return at all costs.

Question about an open case , what to do

Right?

I argued and they wouldn’t budge.

So I did pretty much what a buyer on EBay would do.

They suddenly decided “we will treat you special” and refunded.

I’m more careful now buying fulfilled items and avoiding 3rd party.

Took me awhile - also got 2 cases of shelf stable milk that expired in 2 weeks. Legal, but how is that ”shelf stable” for the purpose of actual backup storage? And a flat of canned fruit all exploded and dripping.

If I want anymore food in this pandemic, I’ll buy from @inhawaii  !!!!! 😂😂😂

Question about an open case , what to do

I thought it meant and at one time I think it did, that no returns meant you don't get your money back, unless not as described  and you had to send photos of the item to prove it.  But as I am reading these boards it does not mean that anymore. I can see a lot of changes on Ebay.

Question about an open case , what to do

@di2360

Since being on Ebay (since Jan 2001) I have always come to the boards to read posts to learn  solutions to problems and to keep apprised to current events. I caught wind of the managed payments stuff and of the effect the covid virus was having all over the planet, so I once again come here to learn what I didnt know about all aspects of ebay, not just buying (Im exclusively a buyer) because learning even about sellers and their responsibilities helps me as a buyer and also helps anyone I buy from.

If I learn what sellers are expected to know and live by, it helps me to understand and appreciate the sellers all the more, and any time  I might run into issues, Im more able to help resolve those issues by being empathetic and understanding...merciful even, towards sellers. (the good ones, that is...not the dishonest ones....)   and I can contribute to helping others that may come here seeking advice.

I feel there is enough misinformation out there without my adding to it so, yeah, Im all for correction in areas needed. I feel ones who dont like to be corrected enjoys chaos and disorder. At the very least, those ones seem to think they are above being taught anything (know it all  lol )

Not I.   Im here  to learn what I dont know and if I can help someone during that learning period, then thats a bonus 😉

Question about an open case , what to do

Yes exactly what I thought and actually what I pretty much knew was the case. I been doing this long enough to know no returns does NOT mean NO refunds. Probably just going to send the label and except the return and hope in good faith they return the entire lot. I have detailed pictures of the lot on my computer along with a detailed list of what was in the box. Exact count of items, brand names on each watch, if it was mens or womens, etc. I do this usually just for my own records and makes it easier when I go to list it I have all the information I need to put in the listing.
I am just going to accept it and send the label. I usually would say keep the item and refund them. Thats what I usually do in a rare case I have an item not as described type of case opened.
But this person just rubbed me the wrong way and before I even shipped the item, I was already getting asked the very next day (less than 12 hours of purchase, they bought it at around 2am saturday night and next morning started the questions when will I have tracking and when is this going out.
Even though I changed my handling time to 10 business days due to circumstances with my kids schedule between my ex and I. He has to work alot now so I have kids all week and I am doing the home schooling, trying to work, take care of house, dinner, and all the other daily life things. Not to mention my brother just passed not to long ago which I am still having a tough time with and have lost two more very close people in the past two weeks, one was just a week ago today. It has been a rough year.
I used to ship daily but just can't anymore and I have it in my listings that there is an extended handling time.
What are ya going to do, life still goes on, and doing the best I can. I am just going to take the lot back and refund the person. I will send the label in a few minutes. It is what is it. At least this is very small percentage that this happens to me since opening my store.
Thanks for your advice. I already pretty much knew the answer, just wanted to double check. I hope they still don't leave me a negative feedback, that I rather NOT have.

Question about an open case , what to do

I know thank you. I knew the answer to my own question, but just wanted to make sure I was correct and should just send the label and accept the return. I can count on one hand since opening my store I have had one of these type of cases opened. Normally the person is honest and they basically say it is a remorse buy and choose according when opening a return case. I had a feeling this person was trouble tho from the beginning, if you read my lengthy response to paradiso....

Question about an open case , what to do

Yea, usually I just let them keep the item and I refund. This particular buyer I didn't have a good feeling about from the jump. I should have declined offer. But I also need to pay bills and feed my kids. IT is a tough time right now and this is my full time job. Normally I don't want to pay the return shipping so I say keep it. But this one, I want it back just because. I know what was in the box and I know the brands I put in the description are definitely in there. I would never lie or deceive a buyer. I am just not that kind of person in general, in business or in my personal life.

Question about an open case , what to do

Yes I know, I knew the answer just wanted to double check. ALso, I think I kinda just wanted to rant a little. Been a frustrating and emotional few months for me losing my brother and some other close people recently plus everything else that is going on. I am sending label and just refund once I get it back.
I can give a partial refund tho if there is a problem or items are missing, is that correct still? Things always changing on here and I have never done that before. I usually say keep it and refund. I never did the partial refund option. Is it still available if my stuff doesn't come back the way I sent it?

Question about an open case , what to do

Thats what I usually do but I do want it back this time, for the first time ever... just because of how the buyer spoke to me and dealt with the situation. After opening case, they sent me several long messages that were not very nice almost abusive.

Question about an open case , what to do

Well, in most cases sellers dont want to pay for return shipping because I know from experience the one time I did have an item returned and used the ebay return label, it was much more money than it costs me to ship the item to the buyer. For some reason the return labels are much higher price than the original cost to ship it to begin with.
Depending on the item, weight, what it is and if it is truly broken, like for example got broken in the mail.. why would I want it back. I just said keep it and refunded.
