Buyer purchased item and just received it today. Tonight I get an e-mail from eBay that they have automatically approved a return from him. His reason "just didn't like it". Okay. Nowhere did I see anything about me having to pay return shipping. Is there a super secret special place where I would find that info? Or did they really tell him he must pay for the return?

If your listing specified buyer-paid returns and the buyer opened a return with a remorse reason- not just the comment but the reason selected from eBay's options- then the buyer is charged for the return shipping label.

It did. I am just trying to find out for sure that I didn't pay for the return shipping. I would rather refund than receive back a possibly opened item that I will only throw in the trash. I checked my summary and didn't see any charge for a label. Also checked PayPal. All eBay said was that they told the buyer to return it, and for me to wait for it before refunding. Of course, they also gave the option to refund now

What does your listing say about returns?

My listing says I will pay for a return if I made a mistake. If the item is being returned for buyer's remorse, the buyer is responsible for return shipping

So since the buyer chose a remorse reason, they should be paying for the return shipping.

Correct - you are off the hook for return shipping as you had an honest buyer.
