Hi! Hope you are all having a beautiful day filled with spontaneous joy and gratitude!
As far as I know USPS Retail Ground does not have an option to print out a prepaid label, you have to go to the post office to get one right?
Does this mean no tracking or an extra cost for tracking?
Also, are the ebay price range estimates accurate to what it would cost to mail my item?
For example I have an oversized package of 6 pounds 17”x11”x18”
It says USPS Retail is estimated between $11-$25
If I select that option, take it to the Post Office and use the address to ship it, asking to ship it through Retail Ground, is that an accurate cost estimate?
Then I know ebay is trying to phase out Parcel Select Ground, and I can’t print out a prepaid label in the options anymore for that either.
But if I selected that option which is estimated between $7-$14 and took it to the post office with the address, would I be able to ask for Parcel Select Ground shipping with an accurate cost estimate between the $7-$14?
Or do I have to use a prepaid label to print that?
If I have to use a prepaid label, how can I go about that and will it also cost me more to do so?
I’ve heard of pirate ship and paypal but have no idea how to use these services.
Right now I have the item listed under priority mail and it’s costing $11-$62 to send!!
Want to give best and cheapest options to my buyers.
Thanks so much for your wisdom!!

Thanks but I’ve only rarely found this to be true for what I sell!

This is very interesting… I was having problems last year trying to print parcel select labels off of ebay!!
I wonder if they changed it??

I didnt even realize I was LOL
But months ago I was having problems trying to print parcel ground select as an option… I’ll just check on an item I sold today if it is an option (though it will be going first class I think… or not something I would send parcel anyway…)
I can’t say I’ve seen the option under the list of choices lately but I havent been actively looking for it

I'm also not Top Rated Seller (although they say if I was graded today I would be) but I have access to Parcel Select. Used it twice this week so far. I just confirm Volume / 166 to actual weight (i.e., does it feel lighter than 'normal'?), then use.

Since Parcel Select is only allowed for 'lighter than expected' packages, maybe there's an automated on/off access depending on the weight and dimensions you have entered. I'll check that with my next package.
I spent five minutes yesterday wondering why the *&#@ the UPS Ground option wasn't appearing, and I finally realized the buyer had a PO Box. UPS Ground was automatically disallowed.
Maybe Parcel Select is automatically disallowed for >= normal (dimensional) weight.
I like mailing (what I now call) 'fluffy' packages.

Parcel Select is automatically disallowed for >= normal (dimensional) weight.
Neither of those statements are true.........from my experience

"You have to take your package to the post office and have them mail it."
Or use any of the various online services to order a cheaper label. Paypal, Pirateship, etc. No need to pay retail Post Office prices.....

"You need to compare the actual cost between Standard and Priority because for items weighing a few lbs the cost is not that much different."
Depending on where it is going, the difference can be huge. I have had large packages that would cost $30+ by Priority, go Parcel Select for less than half the cost.

"Parcel Select is only allowed for 'lighter than expected' packages"

Where did you get that idea?
Not only is Parcel Select allowed for all packages, including those over 1 cubic foot (i.e., subject to dimensional weight), it's significantly cheaper for many weight/zone combinations, since the new USPS rates went into effect in January.
