Purchasing postage label

Hello there! I’ve just sold my first item on eBay but I am a bit confused on how shipping works. It says I have to purchase a postage label using PayPal. Does that have to be done? What if I go directly to the Royal Mail post office and send off the package to the customer? Without paying for the postage label on eBay. Does that work? Or do I absolutely have to pay for the postage label as shown in my sold item on eBay?

Congrats on your first sale, and welcome.

You don't have to buy the postage on eBay.

You are on the US board so I don't know if rules are different about tracking.

You just want to make sure the postage you purchase is supported by eBay and you can add the tracking to the purchase as that's how eBay validates delivery.

Congratulations on your FIRST sale, that is wonderful.  This is the USA site, you should go to the UK site and ask this from the experienced sellers in your country.  You will get more accurate information.
