Hi, has anyone had any luck with the promoted listings feature? Do you really get more visibility? I am not using it and it seems my sales have dropped off a lot lately.
Any feedback is appreciated.
TIA

Depending on the store level you have you may get a quarterly credit for the promoted selling fees. I have been experimenting with it since I get $25.00 per quarter for promoted listing fees. My observations so far is that it does seem to make things sell faster. But I'm not convinved that the items might not have sold without promotion. Most of my buyers buy more than one item at a time. I'm trying to figure a way to use promoted listings I just started promoted listing within the last month. to drive customers to my store and buy more than just the promoted listing.

since I started promoting everything 75% of my sales are from promoted. At one point I had like ten in row.
I set the fee a few percent higher then the trending rate. I have stopped lowering prices when things were slow or nothing was selling and even raised some prices. New listings I have been figuring in the extra fee.
I sell xmas related items so I expect a pick up this time of year, But I am doing much better than last year without promoting. Seems to be working for me.

I have decided to sell other places like Bonanza and Shopify . My sales were great all year long and then Dec. 1st snail crawl. I will stay on a few more months and see if it improves, but if I am still not selling much I will bail. Ebay may be going the way of dinosaurs.

I have also been promoting items that have the higher markups. That way I am still making a good margin after paying the extra fee to eBay. I have no problem paying eBay more if I sell more. It’s just another cost of doing business. I buy my inventory based on what I can sell an it for. If I can’t buy something at the right price I will not buy it.

Promoted listing is no different than a business paying Google or Bing to have their website pop up when a person does a search. For example if you we’re an insurance broker in Chicago you could pay to have your website pop up as one of top results. Since there are thousands of insurance agents in Chicago chances are your websites would be buried amongst the websites the other agents. While paying to promote your site on Google when done right will bring more traffic to a website or item in case EBay promoted listings it doesn’t guarantee a sale. There still has to be a reason for the customer to buy from you. You still have provide value to the customer by differentating yourself from the completion. Hope this helps.

They work for me.
Even if they don't buy that particular promoted item, it brings buyers to my store and they may buy something else or send me a message about an item.
My sales & views lifted once I promoted all 800+ listings.
