I've seen several reports on youtube and online that many browser ad-blockers will block promoted ebay listings. Currently when you promote a listing, you get a promoted listing and a duplicate listing that is not promoted. But with the scheduled changes, there will no longer be the duplicate un-promoted listing. So if an ad-blocker blocks the promoted one, your listing will not be seen.
Ebay says promoted listings wont be blocked by ad blockers, but from what i've seen, thats not the case, and apparently ebay knows this and is still trying to work around it. There are a couple videos where the guy demonstrates this happening on screen in real time of you do a little searching. Does anyone have any more info on this? This could cause a lot of problems

Yes I saw the video and my items are promoted and I was always able to see them. As of 9.21.19 at 10 am I still don't see my promoted listings.
I didn't even know that you Could Block promoted listings.

There are a few larger sellers who are also "vloggers" on YouTube who demonstrate some pretty convincing evidence that promoted listings are, at best, of low value and at worst a scam. Some of those sellers had previously supported promoted listings but have now backed away from that support. It will be interesting to see if the YouTube vlogging community can have an impact on Ebay's revenue, which has become increasingly dependent upon ad revenue.

Used to be that we could see both a 'sponsored' listing and the regular (same item appeared twice in searches). Then we could only see the sponsored listing. Now only the regular listing. When you saw the 'sponsored' listing in searches you at least got the impression that the service might be doing something. Now not so much. We are moving away from the service.

It's in the fall seller update about promoted listings. The listings aren't going to be shown twice now.

"Removal of duplicated promoted and non-promoted listings in search
Starting in September 2019, we’ll no longer show duplicate promoted and non-promoted listings on the search results page. If you are using Promoted Listings, only one of your listings, either promoted or non-promoted will appear in a given set of search results, giving buyers a cleaner, more relevant search experience. We will select which listing to display, based on factors such as listing quality, relevancy to the buyer’s search, and ad rate."
That said, I use adblock all the time, and it has never blocked promoted listings. Well, I won't say never, but I do see quite a lot of them, so I am going to assume that it doesn't block them by default.

Well, considering the promoted listing is exactly the same as the regular listing, but ebay gets a cut of the promoted listing, which one do YOU think they will select to show?
