I have a very nice cancer awareness necklace that is supposed to be promoted (I am over 1 % above suggested promotion fee). I have had it listed a couple of weeks and only have 16 views and no watchers or sales. What is the promoted listing supposed to do if it does not bring views and watchers and even sales? Anyone having similar issues with promoted listings?

GTC and this useless promoted listing stuff is exactly why sales are down.

Cancer? Been there , done that.
Your description should be of the item, not your life's journey.
The customer doesn't care. she has her own problems.
And frankly, most will think the story is phony, because so many are.
What is the dog tag made of? Will it turn my skin green?
How was the colour picture done? Is it enamel (permanent) or paint (will fade or wear off)?
How long is the chain?
What is the chain made of?
Is it a locket? (from ItemSpecifics) If so can you show a picture of it open?
Since these are mass-produced in China, what are the other sellers pricing it at?
And drop the Promoted Listing percentage as low as you can. The dog tag will still get views and any sales will cost you less.
One of the deals with Fixed Price/GTC listing is supposed to be that long-tail items, like yours and my books and sewing patterns, keep their listing number and somehow automagically are then seen eventually by Google and its competitors. Maybe it's even true.
I am a grumpy old bat.

As a person who has worked medical - in the field and in-house - I have run into very few that have thought of chemo as being fun. Perhaps some psychologists suggest that 'one should look at the bright side', however they generally aren't the ones having chemo or the side and/or after effects, and their family and friends probably aren't amused, either.
The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.
Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

Hard pass after reading your description. Using cancer to sell mass produced Chinese junk is not the way to go, using cancer to promote your off site sales is really not the way to go. It's reprehensible.

As far as promoted listings go. Well, I often see the unpromoted listing BEFORE the 'sponsored' one in search results. I don't understand the redundancy, it only further clogs up search. Not worthwhile to me.
I also don't like the word 'sponsored' used to indicate promoted listings in search, when buying, the last thing I want to do is click on something that says it's sponsored. Reminds me of TV commercials and having to watch ads before you tube videos. No thanks! In fact the listing isn't sponsored, it's simply paid extra for if purchased, very misleading.
This is true. Clog, clog, clog. Also, I was searching for a "used" high brake light. What is included in the "used" search is all the NEW "Sponsored" brake lights, and all the "off shore" NEW "Sponsored" replacement bulbs.

I am not "exploiting the cancer card" as I have had 4 separate cancer diagnosis and treatments over the past 20 years. I just completed almost two years of treatment ending in a double mastectomy. I lost my career with my first cancer as I had two full years of infection following my first breast cancer surgery. I have worked hard to put my site together. The thought of "enriching" me is a real laugh seeing as how I have spent way more money on the site so far than I have made through sales. Listing it on eBay is the first time (besides listing it on my site) that I have offered it. The $19.00 price may be a bit high but I am selling it with shipping included. I bought the image, manipulated it and added text, then found a manufacturer to make them and ship them to me. You sorta came down on me with both feet. Very sorry if you took offense in my effort to attempt to contribute to my household - something I have not been able to do for a very long time. I am just trying to get along... I am also a survivor x 4.....

Thanks for the good feedback. I will make some adjustments to include more searchable phrases. It is great to know it is showing up in a couple that you searched for. Your advice is useful and helpful - Thanks, again - Debra

I will have to take a good look at my listing as I have the necklaces in my home and they would go out in the mail the same day or the next day at the latest and I am in the United States so shipping should be pretty fast. I will re-asses the asking price as you are not the only one to mention the price.

Good for you! I know there are alternative methods to fight cancer. After all my diagnosis, I admit, I'd be a bit afraid to try to beat it without chemo but I have a lot of respect for those of you who do. Be Well...

Sorry your Mom had such difficulties with chemo. I just went through for my third time and I do not know if it was harder because I am so much older than when I last had chemo or if it was the combination of drugs but chemo this time kicked my a**. I am left with peripheral neuropathy, tinnitus, and moderate hearing loss. Hope your Mom does well...

My website started out as a site to offer beanie hats that are unusual or "fun" as it can be hard to find head coverings for chemo baldness that are attractive - thus the name FunWithChemo. I seem to have stirred up some negativity with my listing - not my intent...

Reprehensible? I immediately removed my URL from my post. I just saw it as a way for folks to find my site - did not mean to break any rules - let alone be "reprehensible". I am not "using cancer to sell mass-produced Chinese junk". I designed the necklace and had it made in a fairly small number - nothing mass produced and Chinese junk is in the eye of the beholder. They actually came out very well. I have many images that I have created and if I must go to China to get competitive pricing - what business is it of yours? I am not "using cancer" any more than cancer has had its way with me on 4 separate diagnoses. You folks are being pretty hard on someone who is just trying to get a bit of her life back after 2 years of treatment for cancer ending with a double mastectomy. What makes you so hostile?
