Promoted listing getting very few views even though I am above suggested %

I have a very nice cancer awareness necklace that is supposed to be promoted (I am over 1 % above suggested promotion fee). I have had it listed a couple of weeks and only have 16 views and no watchers or sales. What is the promoted listing supposed to do if it does not bring views and watchers and even sales? Anyone having similar issues with promoted listings?

All the promotion in the world will not generate a sale if no buyer is interested in the item (or the price point).

Are you getting "impressions"?  That would let you know if your item is coming up on a page seen by searchers.

The "views" are when someone actually clicks on your item.

I am promoting all of my items and have the same problem!! Hardly no views at all! eBays algorithm decides who sees what!! And that's not a good thing!! I will get spurts of sales and then nothing for days!!

I did searches for Cancer Awareness Dog Tag and cancer awareness necklace............. your item did not show up.........I think your title needs reworking:

Also, a general comment........the $19 seems high in relation to the rest of the items offered.....

I admire your attitude about multiple cancers.......but I'm not sure that alot of people have the same one.....which may affect your sales.........but just one person's opinion.  I'd certain try to work what seem to be key phrases into that title and see what happens.........

I would be somewhat remiss if I didn't mention that mentioning your website could be construed as trying to sell off ebay......and may get you into trouble......... I would remove that portion of the description........as well as the reverse picture which shows it........

I'm a cancer survivor........

Since there is no indication that any of the money I might spend on these tags is going anywhere except into the sellers pocket I would absolutely not buy it.

It's also way overpriced, something I might allow if the money was going to cancer research or similar but just to enrich an eBay seller who might or might not simply be exploiting the cancer card....no way!

Simply my opinions. Price is a little on the high side. Shipping time is way, way to long, made in China, and it might help if you were donating a portion of sales to Cancer based charity. Sorry, you asked, and that is what I see.

Just a quick response, without looking at your item, etc. Going over the trending rate does NOT guarantee better exposure. The fee you choose is only one factor ebay looks at, and almost certainly not the most important one. So, I'd suggest looking at your listing and trying to figure out what would make the listing more attractive to buyers.

As mentioned above, promoted listings do not help if no one is buying that particular product.

If you look at the sold listings for "breast cancer dog tags", you will see 7 sales in 3 months for awareness tags. with per unit prices (including shipping) of 58 cents to 6.10.

There are dozens of such items, and your price at nearly $20 is very high compared with others.  My guess is that it will be a long wait before you get a sale on this item at that price point.

I think everyone is well aware of cancer. Way too many people unfortunately have/had it. I don't know of a single person who hasn't been affected by it in some way. Chemo is far from fun, it made my Mother worse!

As far as promoted listings go. Well, I often see the unpromoted listing BEFORE the 'sponsored' one in search results. I don't understand the redundancy, it only further clogs up search. Not worthwhile to me.

I also don't like the word 'sponsored' used to indicate promoted listings in search, when buying, the last thing I want to do is click on something that says it's sponsored. Reminds me of TV commercials and having to watch ads before you tube videos. No thanks! In fact the listing isn't sponsored, it's simply paid extra for if purchased, very misleading.
