So... you make me pay 16.8% to promote an item that has sold over 1200 times on Ebay in the past two years.  

If I don't pay... I don't sell.  Proof is in the numbers.

So I pay your EXTORTION RATE... and you keep showing the purchasing customers better prices AFTER the purchase and I keep getting hit with cancellations so they can buy from others who are not paying the outrageous fees?

My sales are fine... my numbers are increasing in great ways.  You obviously can't read or comprehend the TOPIC OF DISCUSSION.

My sales are up 20% over last month... how are yours?

You understand it PERFECTLY.  It is written so EVEN A CAVEMAN could grasp the point of the post.

Yet... YOU... and all the others... wish to provoke and instigate... discredit at all costs, issues that are VALID and OBVIOUS.  This was not a generic complaint about sales... it was very specific.  

The COMPANY must somehow be compensating for your efforts... or your posts are the ones the beg the question, WHY?

     O I understood the post perfectly even as a caveman. My response was written the same way.

     Intent was/is not to provoke and instigate but to clarify the reality of things. With regards to your OP, and as others stated, NOBODY forces you to promote that is a seller inflicted choice. There is also no way to prove that the use of PL increases sales. I have never used PL and never will. If I was a cheerleader as you profess I would tell you to increase your promotion percentage but encourage quite the opposite, ditch the PL and lower your prices. 

     You complain about the issue but continue to sell and in fact note that your sales continue to increase assumingly even with the cancelations.

     I get no compensation from eBay I respond to posts on this forum just like a LOT of others in an attempt to help other sellers especially those new to the venue. With regards to my sales eBay at one time constituted about 90% of my sales by volume but I have no loyalty to eBay or any other platform/venue for that matter. Due to a number of factors I diversified a LONG time ago across multiple platforms and venues and eBay now only accounts for about 20% of my sales by volume. While I find it to still be a viable venue they are not the only game in town these days.

14608 posts... without compensation? Exactly but I am FAR from being #1 in that statistic either by number of responses or duration. That belongs to the individual with over 41,000 posts.

I have never used promoted listings for this reason.  Why give eBay more money when it can sell on its own?

This thread is quickly devolving... @the_backyard_bear , no one here is paid by eBay except "the blues" who have @ebay in their name.  They're clearly marked by a blue border around their posts, hence the nickname.

You don't have to pay to promote.  You can easily sell plenty of goods without paying a single dime for promoted listings.  We've ended all our promotions and our sales are the same as before we did that, slightly better in fact (though that's probably just normal ebb and flow of retail, not due to the promotions).  Some things might need promotion to sell well, but that's not eBay forcing you, nor anyone else, just the natural consequences of being in a high-competition market.

     That is 100% you option. Not really sure why you continue to respond to my posts but that is also your option but you should really try to postings with merit.
