Products that sold now get no views

I sold a few sweatpants within the last two weeks. Here is one that sold:

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F183610775502

I have another one of exactly the same style, but this time I offered free shipping (increasing the price to account for it) and offered returns. Now after getting 12 views a few days ago, the pants have gotten 0 views for the last three days, and last night, I got a notification from eBay saying the product is not going to sell. This is very frustrating, as I was reiciving offers on these pants and sold 2 of them. I know it’s not a lot but I’m starting out and it’s disheartening when I’m getting views, sales, and offers and then I feel like eBay decides my listing isn’t good enough and removes it from peoples searches. Comps are going for the same prices as well. Am I doing anything wrong? Any advice is appreciated. I noticed this happened to a few of my other items, but I know most of my items that are still up aren’t as popular as the ones that already sold. Thank you.

Here are the active pants I am talking about:

I just realized that I changed the title for the active listing to:

Polo Ralph Lauren MENS Waffle Thermal Lounge Sleep Pants L Blue

I am revising it to

Polo Ralph Lauren MENS Waffle Knit Thermal Lounge Sleep Pants L Blue Pajama NEW

and I will drop the price a dollar.

But it I am still curious about the drastic change and how eBay can just decide it won’t sell.

Thanks

Other sellers have lower prices.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=Polo+Ralph+Lauren+MENS+Waffle+Thermal+Lounge+Sleep+Pa...

and most buyers, when given a choice of the exact same item from different sellers will choose the lower priced ones.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

So many things affect placement - have you had a lot of return requests? Have you had any out of stocks? Have your sales decreased in the past few weeks?

My sales have stopped suddenly - so am trying to change things up to regain visibility.

Your price is good and being your pants have the cuffs which many of the others don't - that's a plus.

Besides the price ...

Important keywords should be in the beginning of the title.

You've got Pajama and Sleep Pants at the end 😞

penguins - I've always given that advice myself but have recently been watching the titles of items that are similar that sold but also titles of some of the vloggers - the titles are all mixed up and yet the items have been found and sold. That's what has me wondering if things have changed and I should change up my own listings.

I was trying to list some of my unsolds thru seller hub. I tried searching by certain keywords and even tho the keywords were in the beginning of the title - many of the items didn't come up in the results and I had to modify my search to find them.

Possibly changing the listing to free shipping, and raising the price to accommodate that, has now made it appear to be too expensive to those looking, in addition to the fact that another poster mentioned there are those listed for less.

Tunica, I think it all comes down to how a buyer searches and what eBay's suggested searches pull up when you start typing (most searched) ..And what relation the title has to the order of the keywords used.

"Ralph Lauren Mens Pajama Pants" vs "Polo Blue Thermal Mens Pajamas" vs "Blue Lounge Pants" is going to get different results and the rank of the listing is (probably) going to change based on the closest match to the buyer's search terms (in order).

Throw Item Specifics and "Inferred Category" into the mix ... who the heck knows LOL

But, I feel that Putting "pants", "Shirt", Pajamas" (whatever the basic item is) closer to the front does seem to help in at least getting the "implied category" correct 🙂

I searched Ralph Lauren polo sweatpants and your item did not come up, but that is because because it does not have the word 'sweatpants' in the title.

When I searched Ralph Lauren polo waffle with Best Match yours were in the first 200 listings of the 2,068 matching listings.

When I searched Ralph Lauren polo lounge pants with Best Match yours were in the first 75  listings of the 1,561 matching listings.

So IMHO, your statement that "I feel like eBay decides my listing isn’t good enough and removes it from peoples searches" is speculation that is simply not supported by a basic test.

If you have multiple of the same exact item, try listing as a multi-quantity good 'til cancelled listing. That will get you better search placement once there is a recent sales history attached.

Can you publish the wording of that message here? I’m not understanding what kind of communication it is and its meaning. At first i thought you meant that eBay removed the listing altogether (such as a Vero takedown) but i see it is still on the platform. Thanks.

I know nothing about the item.......but if cuffs are important and NOT on many of these, then w Cuffs should be in the title.......

One thing I have learned from selling on ebay for almost 19 years (and from my brick and mortar store before that) is just because an item sold last year, last month, or just last week does not mean it will sell today or tomorrow.

Whenever you list a new item, you get a brief chance at getting views as those items first roll out into the categories you placed them in. They soon get drowned out as more and more people list more items in those same categories.

To put it clearly, you aren't getting traffic and aren't getting sales because you have practically nothing for sale. The more you list for sale, the more you greatly improve your odds of getting more traffic and ultimately more sales.

Likewise, ebay's algorithms appear to favor sellers who have more goods for sale, and who have a strong sales record. If your products are selling better than your competitors, ebay will give you a boost in visibility.

I just recently started selling video games again, and I plan on listing as many as 800 (given ebay doesn't hit me with category limits).

You should try learning basic SEO (Search Engine Optimization), doing so can greatly improve your odds of making sales. For instance, a lot of the items I sold throughout 2015 had sales that originated from traffic outside of ebay. I got buyers from Google search, twitter, and elsewhere.

If you build a following on social media, then you have even more potential buyers to market your products too. I plan on marketing my games out across a number of social platforms in the near future, once I get done listing everything.

Either way, learning is knowing, so learn as much as you can.
