Does anyone have experience addressing this type of issue?
Buyer initiates a return request due to "the box was damaged and product were smashed".
I asked for pictures of the package in order to process a claim.
Her response was that she threw them away... and didn't thinking about taking a picture.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

@bonmoy wrote:Buyer needs to take the package to her local post office with the damaged item to file a claim if it was insured. She, or he is responsible for filing a USPS claim unless the damaged item is sent back to you -- then you need to take the original damaged package and item to your post office.
since DeJoy has been Postmaster General, the post office is denying claims unless you do this. No photos or written descriptions are accepted.
good luck!
Buyer can't file a claim with USPS.
The shipper is the insured, that's the SELLER.
Buyer is responsible for providing photos and the item & packaging upon request for the seller to make a claim.

Just had this happen with $770 worth of computer processors, buyer allegedly threw away packing an hour after delivery. The items are on the way back, I'm 99 percent sure he just switched them out anyway bc he's a seller so why would you not have the packaging am hour after opening a damaged item? I'm going to refund him 50 percent, he will contest it and I will probably lose.
Then I sold $550 worth of cpus to another guy who is sending them back be because "they are not grade A and I can only use grade A" which makes ZERO sense. Almost certain it's another switcheroo , the chips had no surface scratches just standard looking rubbed wear from being under a heatsink for years.
If both are scammers (which I think so, both are sellers of pc stuff but neither sell any cpus) I'm out almost @$1300 and eBay will NOT even do anything. Hell I got a video card being returned because it doesn't fit, the buyer messaged me and said he's only 12 years old, lost shipping there and back. The eBay call me link is gone and I've been trying it all day in the robo chat but it just says an error has occured.
I'm moving my listings to Facebook slowly, fees are WAY less anyway.

Buyer does not have to return packing:
They do have to return item.....
The buyer does not have to assist in any insurance claim.
And return will of course violate any terms of insurance as the item was reshipped.

May I ask what happened? I have a buyer that's claiming contents arrived damaged but box and packaging was good, no damage so they threw it away. Ugh! I had purchased the insurance through USPS. He bought 3 items, packaged identical, same box, same day, same bubble wrap and at the same time. 2 out of 3 made it there safely.
