As of October 19th, 2017, we have expanded the existing Structured Data mandate to require product identifiers on newly created listings using the 'Seller Refurbished' condition. As per usual, if the item you are selling is custom made, or if a Global Trade Item Number (UPC, EAN, ISBN) was not issued by the manufacturer, Does Not Apply is an acceptable alternative to use in the drop-down field.
To learn more about product identification requirements, please visit ebay.com/requiredidentifiers.
If you have questions about this policy change, please ask them below. Additionally, feel free to share any product identification best practices you have come across as you have listed Seller Refurbished items on the site.

When you say "product page", do you mean an individual listing or something from the catalog?
Refurbished appears on every* listing in Toothpaste. That makes as much sense as having it appear on disposable diapers listings.
Doesn't ebay realize that NO ONE is going to buy refurbished disposable diapers ? I don't know about everyone in the whole wide world but I'm not going to buy refurbished lipstick, whatever the heck that could possibly be.
How many buyers see that word in certain categories and go "OH ICK" and leave, never to return.
As someone said, there is an industry standard definition for the word "refurbished" and ebay isn't using the word correctly.
What exactly is ebay trying to say with that word?
*I will admit to not looking at every single one of the 38,000 listings for toothpaste but I've seen "refurbished" on every HBA product I've searched for lately, and that's quite a few because I sell in that category.

Refurbished diapers are gross, toothpaste? disgusting, but I think I have you all beat....
I think ebay really needs to rethink this. Besides the point of showing something is cheaper when with shipping its not.

Ok I have to laugh. I read this thread to the hubby and he asked. Do they have refurbished condoms?
Well yes, dear they do...

I was doing some things on Amazon and looked up Diapers, Toothpaste and Tampons, they handle it this way "More options available: "
For the Condoms, they had "Other Sellers".
At least they had the sense to handle certain catagories differently in the programming

After refurbished diapers, refurbished sanitary napkins and refurbished condoms, I'm afraid to look: refurbished toilet paper?
Say it ain't so, please?

Ok THAT grossed me out. Yep I looked, refurbished toilet paper.

After searching for items this morning, I see that ebay has decided to drop the New and Refurbished links that were on many items yesterday. At least I can't find them on the items I seen them on yesterday. Not seeing refurbished diapers or TP anymore either.
Anyone still seeing them?

I still see it on the links I posted yesterday..........and it's on one that I didn't try yesterday:

Yep, I see it on the link you just showed.
I do not like that search page that ebay has (the link you showed) so when I get that, I immediately click the blue

Click on your link then look at top and click the blue view search results and see if you are still getting them.
I am not seeing them when I do that. Not sure what is going on.

I must be dense.......I click on the diaper link and see no "blue search results" link .......(I've "got" the search results there???). If I click into a specfic listing, I agree there is no mention of refurbishment.
