Problems staying signed in

Anonymous

Every time I go to a new page - active, unsold, etc - it prompts me to sign in. When I enter my password the sign-in page refreshes prompting me to enter my password again. No error messages are showing.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

I haven't seen any posts about this, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Re: Problems staying signed in

Hi, @Anonymous.
I saw something like this too - it was because I was using an private window. They signed me out every time I opened a new tab. I fixed it by no longer using a private tab . 🙂 Instead, I just used a completely different browser.

You may want to try a different browser as well and not using a private tab if that is what you are doing.
Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not using private browsing mode and I tried two different browsers already. I also cleared my history, cookies, cache and rebooted my computer. My browsers and OS are up to date, latest versions. It appears to be an issue on eBay's end of things.

Some of my bookmarked pages are working, but when I use navigational links within seller hub eBay keeps directing me to the sign in page and I can't get past it.

Re: Problems staying signed in

I had this problem over the weekend. EVERY SINGLE TIME I went to save a seller I got booted off the page and sent to the SIGN IN PAGE. I could not save any sellers the entire weekend. I have not checked to see if it is still an issue I GAVE UP and probably will never find them sellers again BOTH OUR LOSSES the sellers and me. tired of the glitches that cost everyone money.

I haven't experienced any of these issues, so I can't advise--but I'll tag someone who may be able to help . . .

Re: Problems staying signed in

I believe it was Mr Lincoln who had a similar problem the other day. They seem to be updating something as my listings won't take and Ebay is freezing for me.

Thanks - sorry you're also having problems, but at least it's not just me.

I should have done a better job with the post title - I have no problem staying signed in. The problem is that seller hub navigation keeps leading me to the sign in screen and entering my password takes me in a loop back to the sign in screen. The problem is intermittent, but it has slowed me down today. At least when I use my bookmarks I can load pages and not see the sign in screen.

Re: Problems staying signed in

Possible that the gremlins unchecked your "keep me signed in" global site setting, that your browser updated and cookie blocking behavior changed, or that it's just your turn in the barrel.

@eburtonlab is the keeper of the knowledge for these type of sign in issues.

When you say you "cant get past it" do you mean you sign in but it fails and loops back to the signin?

There may be a security CAPTCHA there you don't see due to screen zooming or other issues.
Also try oldschool signin page: https://www.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn

Re: Problems staying signed in

check if you clicked on the "2 step verification program". I clicked on it, I can't get rid of it.

I made  a huge mistake by clicking on the 2 step verification program. Too much time on text messages

Re: Problems staying signed in

I lurk on the board frequently, but didn’t see anybody else mentioning this recently so I thought it was just me. I’ve been having the same problem for about two weeks. If I want to go to relist something, it makes me sign in again. Go to my unsolds, it makes me sign in again. Go to look at my orders, makes me sign in again. It does this on my account and my SO’s account.  I think the record was signing in six times in the space of a couple minutes.  It does this on our Dell computer and my iPhone SE.

Like most eBay problems I’ve been just crossing my fingers and hoping the problem will eventually disappear.  Aside from the always lovely ebay relisting my sold items glitch, problems usually disappear when they start tinkering with something else.

Re: Problems staying signed in

@Anonymous

I think berserkerplanet has touched on all the tips I usually recommend.

Some of the sign in pages don't work consistently with browser-saved username and password. Some folks recommend trying to sign in with email rather than username.

One thing -- you mention that the issue seems to center around Seller Hub; there have been some issues with Seller Hub and missing links recently, and it's possible that eBay is in the midst of making changes. If that's the case, those changes may be in conflict with your cookies or cache data. I realize you say you are having problems with multiple browsers, but next time it happens, bookmark your current tabs, explicitly sign out of eBay, quit your browser and delete your eBay cookies and clear your cache.

If that doesn't help, the problem may be account related. I have heard reports of folks being subject to high security scrutiny having to sign in multiple times, and getting Captchas on the sign in page. It may go away on its own once eBay is satisfied.

Good luck.

Did you clean your cookies? Do a purge of them.

I did a bad job with the title of my thread because the problem wasn't staying signed in. The problem was that all navigation in seller hub kept looping me back to the sign in page.

I could load my Active Listings using a bookmark. I could load my Unsold Listings using a bookmark. But if I was on the Active Listing page and I used the site navigation to go to Unsold it would redirect me to the sign in page. When I entered my password the sign in page would reload - this was happening on a loop. But I was already signed in because if I used my bookmarks the pages would load without a problem.

It was a site issue that resolved itself within a day or two. I haven't seen it happen for a few days now. Thanks for everybody's input - much appreciated.
