Problem w/ Auto Relist, Insertion Fees, and eBay Customer Service

Hello all,

I could really use some help from some of the more experienced sellers out there with a couple issues.  First of all, I'm not a high-volume seller; just piddle around with 60-100 items.  I've been selling for a few years now; mostly collectibles and antiques.  I exclusively use the mobile app to manage all of my eBay listings; occasionally popping over to the desktop to the change a price or adjust a shipping fee.  All's been well for a couple of years with no issues and then the last week of October, I began experiencing a few problems.  I'll do my best to succinctly describe them below:

 

1-During the last week of October, I noticed that my iems were not autorelisting.  They would simply drop off onto the Unsold Items category and I had to manually relist each item.

 

2-Each time I relist an item, it counts against my 50 Free insertions.

 

3-New items that I have listed during the month of November also are not autorelisting and are dropping off to the Unsold list.

 

4-When making a lisitng, I no longer have the option to choose to auto relist.  The button has simply vanished from the listing tool.

 

I searched the Help topics for "relisting" and learned that there had been a recent change to the relist policy.  It seems that the new policy is that all auctions made using the Quick Listing Tool, which includes the mobile app, should auto relist up to 8 times by default AND those relists will not count aginst the monthly Free Insertions.  Apparantly this is  not the case in my situation for some reason.  

 

So, I contacted eBay customer service.  Since November 1st, I have logged over 8 hours on the phone with customer service hoping for a solution, an explanation, and a refund of my insertions.  I've spoken to no less than 10 different CS reps, several in supervisory roles, and the problem still persists.  I have not been credited for those insertions, and not 1 of the 3 reps who promised to call me back with furher information have responded.  In fact, each rep admitted there was a problem, each had a different line as to why it was occurring, and none seem to be able to offer legitimate advice or a solution.

 

The problem continues to this day.  I have a list of 33 unsold items that should have autorelisted for free and I refuse to relist them for the fee eBay hopes to collect.  I feel like I've gotten the complete run-around from eBay and they no longer are interested in my business.

 

If anyone has a solution to these issues, has any advice, or experienced a simlilar situation I'd be much appreciative if you would share that with me.

1. This, I have no idea why its happening, but a number of people have reported thier listings dropping. You are not thenonly one.

2. The app automatically has things set as autorelist or good til canceled, BUT there is a fee for each relist. Every 30 days on buy it now items, it eats up a new listing from your free pile or you pay. This is extra annoying in auctions

3. No idea, again, not just you

4. The app has removed the gtc button because it is supposed to force all listings, auctions, etc, to auto relist every time. Its interesting that you find this annoying because you WANT gtc and its not letting you see the button. I find this annoying because I do NOT want gtc yet, again, no button.

You might post over on the app board.......there are two, just hover over Discussions up at the top of the page, they are in the buying/selling column......

 

One thing I seem to remember (maybe, lol)......there was a limitation on the number of auto relists?....8?  I don't remember what happened after that......but could yours be beyond that?

Thanks so much for the reply!  One of the recent changes to the eBay auto relist policy is that any listing that is an auction longer than 5 days should auto relist up to 8 times and those relists should not go against the 50 free insertions if those lstings were made with the Quick Listing Tool.  Here is the text cut/paste directly from eBay itself:

 

"Auction style listings:

  • If you're using the quick listing tool, auctions with a duration of 5 days or more will be automatically relisted up to 8 times. When you use the quick listing tool, automatic relists do not count towards your zero insertion fee listings balance."

For some reason, it isn't working for me and I suspect many others as well.  Over half of the eBay CS reps I spoke with were not even aware of this policy change.

 

Is anyone else having this issue?

Does anyone know a way that I can contact a supervisor here in the U.S.?

I am having the same issue.  Items listed weeks ago as 10 day listings are still autorelisting, but items I've just put up are not for some reason.  Definitely seems to be a glitch in the system.  Scary that CS reps aren't aware nor do they know how to fix it.
