Do these sellers realize that price gouging is illegal? I mean, $1,000.00 for 1 ounce of USED hand sanitizer while our nation is facing virus that is killing people is not just wrong, it's illegal. Then there is the fact that as fast as eBay is taking them down they are slipping by, by relisting them time & time again. With the above mentioned item being used, it is potentially not safe anyways. I just don't get how these people are going out buying up as much as they can, keeping it out of the hands of those who fall in the at risk groups & then thinking they will get rich while people are at risk of dying! I just find it really sad that some go that low in our nation. I just really want to know why are these items still for sell on eBay & still being allowed to be posted?

FYI, over 1,000 more Americans died today, wonder how many from the lack of a proper mask? Guess they should have shopped on Ebay, where there seems to be plenty of masks from "authorized sellers".

Oh, and over 23,000 new infections, too bad masks are in such short supply. Guess I just don't see the bigger picture, keeping those Ebay profits up. Elon Musk shut down his factory and has his people making ventilators for the cause.

One guy has packs of 20 for sale and says he/she has more than 10 to sell...

I've asked some of my nurse friends to stop by when they get a break to let Ebay know how they feel about masks being black marketed on Ebay while they have to share masks to get through the day.

It is not 23,000 "new infections". It would be 23,000 tests were positive for covid19. There is a big difference between those two statements. I don't know where you got the 23,000 number but that really doesn't matter. It wasn't that they just got infected, it is that they were just diagnosed. They could have had the virus for days, which is why the stay home requests are so important. It is how we can get this under control. Don't get out there and infect others or get it from others that are ignoring the stay at home.

As more tests get out there, more people tested and the tests actually processed, the numbers go up. We have not yet gotten a good vision of how many infected people we have in the USA due to a significant lack of testing across the nation.

Lots of good people across the globe are kicking in to help in countless areas to help their fellow human. Such a wonderful thing to see.

"report item"...thank you!!! I have been looking for rice which we use to stretch dog food, paid about 25.00 for 50 pounds over a month ago. 119.00 for the same today. I am shocked...kind of. Barilla pasta which on sale at Safeway is 1.00 for 16 ounces...8.99 plus shipping. If this is not gouging what is?

I have still found some fair prices on various things, but when food gets scarce, or the supply chain is really messed up, where will the gouging end?

There are those that will argue that up is down and black is white til the cows come home...I have just started ignoring them. I do understand the anxiety that most are feeling, but no one knows what anyone 'behind a keyboard' has experienced in their life, and it is not fair to state something like that.

James...I had the H1N1 flu in 2009...three weeks of h*ll. If you want to debate 'pandemic' then isn't the 'common' flu a pandemic every year? It's in every country and kills lots and lots of people.....

I do see your point but shutting down an on-line selling site that a lot of people depend on for food on the table is not the way to stop the profiteering. Humans have always profited off of other humans. I, for one, am going to devote a few hours every day to reporting the 'bad people'.

White House expected to urge Americans to wear face coverings in public to slow spread of coronavirus.

Wow, watch those prices on Ebay skyrocket now. The "authorized" black market that Ebay supports is going to be very lucrative. How much will scared and desperate people pay for a mask? I guess we will find out what the market will bear in the next few days. 5 N95 masks are currently going for $160 right now. I hope our nurses can get some before the price goes up.

Another 900 dead in the US, about to go over 7,000. Listings for TP still out there and a 20 pack of 3M respirator face masks going for "only" $499, but you get a break on shipping for only $5. Sad time to be a member of Ebay.
