Do these sellers realize that price gouging is illegal? I mean, $1,000.00 for 1 ounce of USED hand sanitizer while our nation is facing virus that is killing people is not just wrong, it's illegal. Then there is the fact that as fast as eBay is taking them down they are slipping by, by relisting them time & time again. With the above mentioned item being used, it is potentially not safe anyways. I just don't get how these people are going out buying up as much as they can, keeping it out of the hands of those who fall in the at risk groups & then thinking they will get rich while people are at risk of dying! I just find it really sad that some go that low in our nation. I just really want to know why are these items still for sell on eBay & still being allowed to be posted?

They will if someone is charging over $1,000,000 for a ten roll pack of toilet tissue, or even $10,000 for one single square of toilet tissue.
That's utterly ridiculous.
What state only goes after them if they charge those kinds of numbers?

What is the correct way to report these Sellers; and, can you report more than one a Seller at a time? I’m certain that like other businesses, there may be excessively long wait times on the phone. Is there a specific email address? Thank you in advance.

Has eBay considered locking down ALL new listings going forward?

The reporting function on site is listing by listing.
You can call the call center if you want to report a seller.

I'm sure they have. However these persistent sellers are getting creative in how they list. They are trying to hide from Ebay by posting in categories in which these items are not typically found or belong in. They are getting as creative as they can to keep their listings up as long as possible. Ebay will find them eventually, especially with the help of the community and these sellers will get shut down.

I read in another price gouging chain that ebay has a new reporting
For the listing, you will see on the right... "report listing" link, click it
then select "Prohibited and restricted items"
Then "Illegal items and items encouraging illegal activity"
Then "other illegal activity concerns"

Fantastic information. The first reason has been there for a long time. But the other two are new for the 2nd and 3rd things you need to select. I'm glad Ebay added these. That makes it so much easier to decide which reasons to use.

I too have been reporting; also confronting a few price gouges and it seems to just continue. I am disgusted with how many people are scamming others during a global pandemic and how eBay does not seem to be able to shut it down. I think the face masks and sanitizers are lessening, while the toilet paper gouging is just out of control; often times more than 100% above retail and highest bidder doesn’t make it any better. I really believe all toilet paper sales should be shut down for the next month or so to stop this nonsense. Does reporting really help or is it just too much for eBay to manage?

I'd love to hear directly from someone at eBay exactly what the best way to report this is within the "Report an item" structure. Someone suggested doing it via "Listing practices", but I wish eBay would chime in with their preference.

Reaped those rewards big time.

Here is another very generous helping hand.

Try to get after toilet paper sellers. I report them and then there are 3 more selling right away.

If you think about it carefully eBay is not losing money as these listings would have never been made in the absence of the Corona Virus. eBay should keep any fees paid for these listings as a punishment.
