Potential Scam

So I am not new to selling but new to the scams that have been running around. I just sold a PC for $1950. The buyer sent me a PO Box in New Jersey because i do not ship internationally. Says post office will forward it through PostaPlus. So I tell him I require signature and ID. He then replies he will check with friends, replies again with a street address and name and assures someone will be there to sign. So after the friend receives it and ships it to him I feel no longer protected when it leaves the US. What should I do in this situation. Please help!!!!

Once the item shows delivery in NJ, you are done. The buyer cannot file an item not received case, as it was delivered.

If the buyer decides it's not as described, you will only be responsible for return shipping from NJ, not from whatever country the buyer is in. He would have to get it to NJ and have them ship it back to you before the time limit expired.

The buyer can still go to their credit card, and 99.999999% of the time the credit card company will side with their customer, not the merchant.

That said...selling a $1950 computer online?   No.  Just...no.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

@dixx99

You have no need for protection.  Your responsibility ends as soon as the buyer’s agent ships the item to the buyer.🙂

I have been wanting to refund all day, it felt odd to me. Been doing business on here for a long time and sell high value items. Never had a problem or ran into anything such as this before. Thank you, I really just needed some reassurance. I am going to do a refund and relist the item.

If you're willing, please share the eBay user ID of the buyer so I can review their feedback to give more clarity.

And for $1950 only ship to a confirmed address on the order. Do not change the address.

If they want to use a different address, cancel the transaction and relist it, let them buy it again.

In any regard, for $1950 you should be calling eBay for some clarity also.  (866) 540-3229

I do not agree that you can't sell computers online.

If you have eBay managed payments, why not?

Ship only to the address on the order.

The buyer's feedback also tells a story.

They paid with PayPal.

Don't forget that signature is required because of the sell price. Does the signature of the re-shipper work the same as a customers signature?

Does your buyer want it shipped to the address on the Paypal payment?

If not, cancel the payment as problem with address and block your supposed buyer.

You are asking for problems selling a 2000 computer with a buyer with all these issues.

No one said you can't sell computers on line.  They were questioning the issue of selling a high priced item on line.
