So I've had a perfect shipped on time rate for my entire existence on eBay to go along with my top rated seller status. I've never looked at my stats as I've never shipped anything late. My post office had been great about picking them up, and scanning them once they returned.
Apparently that was a mistake as over the last few months my postal worker has failed to scan a handful of items left in the mailbox for pickup. I have all the emails saying they were picked up from the mailbox, but in many cases they seem to have not scanned them in the same day.
So now I'm at a point where my top rated seller status is going to lapse. Any chance that the eBay staff would take the "package picked up" emails from USPS as proof that they were indeed shipped and picked up on time, or will they only look at the time USPS scanned them?
From now on I'll be standing in line waiting for them to be scanned.

Complain to your local post office manager, that may solve the problem.
With respect to proof of timely pick up, present that directly to ebay for a decision.

@mangorunner It doesn't say which particular package the postal worker picks up it just states that the package pick up you requested has been picked up. When scheduling a pick up you just put what class of mail, weight, and how many packages to pick up. Once scheduled you get a confirmation number in case you need to make any changes. Mail man has a piece of paper saying he needs to make a pick up. He just scans the paper when he makes the pick up. Thats why sometimes it says the pick up is completed but the actual packages dont get scanned until way later.
Hope this helps!

Thanks. Accordingly, it sounds like the Original Poster may have trouble proving that those emails are for those exact packages.... or proving they are for all of those packages. The proof is not absolute. Thanks again for the info!

Just so I'm understanding this: you're getting a confirmation email from USPS to say that they've got your package(s), but the pickup itself is not noted in the tracking history?
Can you print a SCAN sheet and leave that in the mailbox with the packages? They're supposed to scan that and leave it for you. All the packages listed on the SCAN sheet will get an entry in their tracking to show that they were picked up.
The alternative is to have a heart-to-heart with your carrier and just ask him or her to be sure to scan the package(s) themselves, because it's important and people do notice when it does or does not get done.

I suspect that with a text editor and five minutes of time, I could create a "package picked up" email that eBay would have no way to authenticate.
That is probably why eBay wants evidence of shipping and tracking to come directly from the postal service, and from you.

even with proof the chances of ebay fixing it is slim.
A few years back there was a glitch, and no scans were showing by ebay.
I called ebay, and I got passed off to 6 different reps, then dropped.

A few years back? What about last week?
