Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

Buyer isn't happy with the cost of shipping.  I gave him the dimensions and weight of the box with my zipcode and said 'See if you can find a better rate'.  He just replied and said I should send a 15 pound large box media mail.  --- Straight to Blocked Bidders List.

What have you got today?

Yes, used panties is popular but check out "well worn" shoes. you have to use that wording. Socks are another popular item.....And yes, they want you to continue to wear things after they bought them. Don't even want to tell you the stuff I found one day when I went down the ebay rabbit hole. You can get ANYTHING here - more than you can even imagine.

I've had over 6000 brilliant buyers, and then one nutcase. I feel lucky!

@dogsrus3

Ewww.....Used shoes...Now I can see it for expensive dress shoes, some might like the fact they are broke in, plus getting them cheaper. But tennis shoes, no way am I putting my feet in someone else sweaty shoes....Saw one pair unwashed nasty looking tennis shoes starting bid was $20, had 6 watchers.  I think I am better off in the dark of what types of things can be found here.......

Selling an item that is less than 1/2 the next lowest price anywhere and wants 4 of them... seller complaining about shipping ($4). Added to blocked list. Not risking low DSRs or negative feedback for an unreasonable moron.

Hope he will enjoy paying $25 each for what I was asking $9.99 each for 🙂

But the ones that are $15 more each are "FREE SHIPPING!!!"

Re: Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

My offer for a lot got turned down because "you ALSO sell jewelry and I don't want these resold".  Mkay. I wanted ONE item out of the lot and would scrap or repair the rest.  ME, when I sell, I don't care WHAT you do with it - I got my money already!  So the lot went UNSOLD rather than sell it to me who might break up a family or something...

Re: Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

I received a message from a buyer who asked why I had blocked them and wouldn't allow them to make offers.  Turns out they ARENT blocked and they CAN make offers....it was auto decline that turned them down (which is set to be pretty reasonable) and if auto decline says no, that's a pretty lame offer.  So trying AGAIN to explain the difference between auto decline and blocking (but heavily leaning to blocking this one).

Shipped a computer out to someone.  Guy first claimed he didn't get it, I had delivery confirm, then the story turned into the carrier left it on the porch and the box got rained on (because I've got control of the weather).  When I didn't go for that, couple days later I got an email from his roommate saying he destroyed the computer because he caught the guy messing with his girlfriend and kicked him out.  Refund--NADA!

Re: Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

I sell "lots" of jewelry all the time, 9 out 10 times, the items are being resold, some repaired then resold, etc. I could care less what they do with it, once I am paid and it is shipped it is not my business what they do with it. Sometimes I just have so much that it would take me forever if I listed each and every piece one by one, so hey if someone else wants to to do that, more power to them. IT is is just not cost effective for me and simply don't have that much time. I have seen posts about that before, sellers upset because they sold an item to later find it be resold by the buyer that bought it from them. I say, WHO CARES?? LOL

Diamond watch.... potential buyer "are those real diamonds or crystals, because you say the diamonds are genuine, then you say the crystal is scratched."

Seller: "A watch crystal is the glass face that covers the dial. It is scratched as you can see in the photo."

Buyer... disappears.

LOL on all! I just had another one. I sell a succulent plant similar to a cactus. The name of the plant is, "String of Bananas".

Buyer writes me and asks, "How big do the bananas get?"

And they walk amongst us.

Re: Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

Never seem to get those really stupid buyers here on ebay, but locally on a free to use site that is popular in Norway on the other hand.. oh boy.

Just today i had a guy wanting to buy a folding knife from me. A typical kershaw folding knife, nothing special about it, just a manual folder. He gives me an offer slightly under my asking price which i accept, then afterwards he asks if it is real and if it is sharp.. both questions i reply yes. Then he proceeds to ask if the knife is legal, i then ask why should it be illegal? He then answers because it looks like it could be used for knife violence.

Probably some conflicted soy milk-drinking hipster that was looking to start ****. I just blocked him at that point. No reason to take the dialog any further.

I am also selling a vintage 1960s picnic set in a suitcase that is unused and with it is included a paper where all the contents are pictured.. just the same stuff that is in the case.. an advert from the producer. Buyer asks if all the contents pictured on the paper is included to which i reply yes (i have photos of the set and all the items spread out mind you). Then he proceeds to ask about pots and pans and completely unrelated stuff and whether or not that also is included. He also spoke about how he was gonna use the set for a date so he had to make sure that the plastic container in the set could be used to keep his wine chilled.

Seems to me like a lot of people just want to interact with others.
