Possibly the craziest email I've gotten in 23 years of eBay

Had a guy email on an item I'm not taking offers on, offered $10 on a $20 item, I said no, it's already discounted from list price.   Guy sends messages from two different accounts, no less, at the same time, same offer.

After a rant about being on SSI living with parents and how I was some greedy hoarder who should take a loss for this guy, and responding only with that both accounts are blocked and reported to eBay, I got this doozy (censored by me):

Go for it, Ebay knows all about me and that I'm getting p***ed over greedy prices and people.

My thing is I'm currently in the process of working for the United States Government on designing a war toy. But on ssi disability. My idea is a One Tera-ton hydrogen bomb. Basic specs, 30 feet dia sphere, two inch thick steel wall, capacity 105 thousand Gallons of volume @ 50 thousand PSI (see basic picture) Just to let you know, I've already had FBI here at my parents house where I live and had a cocky conversation with them saying I'll bail (defect) to Iran, that was almost two years ago, they really want to see a real design in Auto Cad. My question is, Should I be greedy with them and make them pays what Iran OFFERED (10 million dollars) To give you an idea of the blast yield I'm projecting, I figure a thousand mile blast radius. I told FBI I was rebranding Fatman that ended WW2 and I want serious cash!!!. So, How greedy should I get? As much as you have??

Is your life worth MY time to save it? OR should I tell you all to Blank UR selves???

What I do know is SSI has had me on it for 6 years now stalling me from making money. I had Iran's offer and turned it down, If I took it, I would have been in the money and USA would be dead to me and if my idea is used to wipe out USA, OH WELL, Tell em its cause of greedy people over (product). I will ment with Iran and defect just because I'm tired of greedy USA and it trashy people!

I think this guy should win an award for this one.  Maybe an all expense paid vacation to a padded room, too.  A guy who's arguing with me over ten bucks he's too cheap to spend, living on SSI, is going to build a bomb and somehow get me with it.  Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

That's not even all of it, there's a second email following this one with more details.

I know reporting and so on really does little.   Just wanted to share so maybe someone else gets a laugh out of it.

I can't post his account names on here, that's against the rules, before anyone asks in a reply.

@postingid7659 This is obviously a person suffering from mental illness. They are delusional and you should not message them back, just let it go. It's unfortunate that there are people like this in our world but such is life. Hopefully his parents will be safe from their own son....

Oh believe me I'm not poking that bear with a stick again.   My guess is the only thing in danger from this guy is the food in the refrigerator.

He may have lost his tin foil hats - steer well clear and I would report him to eBay and if possible include the message he sent you

Wow.

A thousand mile blast radius? If he's smack dab in the middle of the US, that blast would almost cover the entire contiguous country aside from the coastal states.

Good thing you aren't budging on the $10 discount. It could be that he is $10 shy of completing his project. You just saved all of us. What was he trying to buy from you by the way?

Dear Buyer,
I wish you the best of luck with that, also you shouldn't lie as it won't help with your bipolar / borderline.

Thank you,
Seller

I've  heard some crazy ones, but never about defecting to Iran with a nuke technology that they're developing. Stories like that might have been pretty scary in 1955 but now it's just sad 😓

They're off their meds. Which might be stuck in the mail...

I used to work at retail and I have seen people go to great lengths for a deal, but I have never heard of this

I am not an eBay employee but I sure feel like one sometimes

That guy sure is a nut job.  KInda like the sellers who come here blaming MP for low sales.   😉

I read a thread today (from a little while back) where someone was blaming the "new format" (seller hub) for their recent low sales. Buyers don't see us now. Hey, anywhere you can throw it in, right?

Did you happen to see the thread from the other day of the guy going off on me because i gave him wrong information?   I told him he could use the "out of stock" option without subscribing to a store?

What's going on?  The nut jobs are coming out.

And then there's the posts from Sri Lanka that ask "how can i bee good seller?"

Ebay .... gotta love it.   😃

I don't know what to think of the Sri Lanka sellers. Someone's got the wool pulled over their eyes. It reminds me of some friends in the 90's who were convinced they'd make a living selling Amway cleaning products. Someone made a sales pitch and they fell for it. Thankfully they didn't (totally) go broke!

But, to the original post> Yes! That's the wackiest story I've heard of, totally. Wouldn't a 1000-mile-radius Iranian nuke on Israel pretty much wipe out Iran as well???

Full moon?

Tax time?

We are corporate shills?

Every body is crazy except me(us)?

I have given up on the Sri Lanka posters, they'll figure it out when they don't get paid I guess - a thread earlier was a SR seller DS'ing from China, I don't see that ending well at all 🤔

If he's already getting that high, I don't see why that buyer doesn't just increase it more to 12000 mile radius. That'll wipe out the entire Earth's surface... I'm sure someone will pay a pretty penny for that one.
