Possible scammer

I have a buyer who I suspect maybe a scammer.

They purchased an item yesterday but haven't paid yet- not a problem.

The problem I have is they have messaged me about 10 times with questions about the item which were answered in the item description,  but mostly about the Imei number of the item. I've provided it twice. They write in broken English and are getting demanding. Something smells fishy.

By the way, I tried to block them from future purchases but it said no one found by that handle.  The thing is when I press on their profile it shows all great reviews.

What do you all think?

If s/he hasn't paid, s/he's not a buyer--yet.

"Broken English" is not necessarily a criterion for a scammer. If that were true, half the Americans who make purchases would be suspect.

If you were unable to add the person to your blocked buyer list, double check your typing for mistakes. A common one is the capitalization of the member id. If you can still see the person's profile and feedback pages, the member id is still active, and  you should be able to add the id to your list.

If a person has a transaction with you or has participated in back-and-forth messages with you, the communication block will not take affect for some time. (60 to 90 days has been suggested, but I've never seen any time frame specified in a policy.)

All buyers have 100% positive buying feedback. Buyers cannot receive negative feedback ratings.

Look at their feedback carefully.  Do they sell?  Are they a flipper(using you as a dropshipper)?   About all you can do is open up an unpaid item case when enough time has expired.

You have three options, 1. Ship if they pay, 2. Open an Unpaid Item case if they don't,  or 3. Cancel the transaction and take the hits if you do.

I agree, scammers use compromised accounts and do the messaging to get the seller to ship it to another address or ask for gift  cards.  Messaging after a sale is usually the start of a scam.   And if it is not a scammer I wood cancel and block as I see nothing but issues in the future.
