I posted an auction with a best offer option and quickly received an offer that was a little but above the starting auction price which i accepted. The buyer then messaged me to contact them outside of eBay channels which I did not do. A little while later I received a message from eBay security saying that buyer account was comprised and the sale was cancelled. I relisted it and shortly after I received an offer that is way over (more than double) the starting bid price on my auction very quickly after the auction went live. The buyer's address is in a foreign country and they do not have any ratings so i am suspicious. A few hours later a 2nd offer came in for the same amount that is more than double the starting bid price but this buyer's address is in NYC and they have ratings but when I checked their ratings, they're all in a foreign language which also seems suspicious. Has anyone experienced this before?

If you feel uncomfortable about an offer, why not just not accept it?
And you can block any bidder you want.

Yes, this is extremely common especially for a new seller with zero feedback. They are scam attempts. 100% scams. No doubt about that.
My advice:
Don't do auctions or accept offers.
Use 'Buy It Now' only with immediate payment required.
Also buy some things on ebay so you at least have some feedback.

If the item is worth double of the starting BID then it dos not mean it is a scam.

It doesn't but add in the "buyer" wants to take the transaction off eBay and now you have a 100% scam attempt.

You're a new seller and a scam magnet. Good for you that you recognized what they were doing. Block this person from further annoying you.
