So this morning when I was printing my labels, I caught a sale that I think might have occurred from a hijacked account (what they were buying, buying habits, etc).
If Trust and Safety were to check and see if the account is really hijacked, what would they be looking for to confirm or deny this possibility?
My items ship tomorrow night, I'd really hate to lose $50 if the customer is not the account owner. But I guess I need to know what their indicators are to know if I can rely on them to tell me if the account is legit or not.

Obviously we don't know what tests they use........that would just give the Hijacker ways to get around. We used to say that no use, buying or selling, for a goodly amt of time and then lots of activity with something that wasn't in the feedback background......i.e. selling a forklift, etc. best to call if you are really suspicious......

I agree. If you feel strongly about this, contact Ebay ASAP.

It's important to be aware of where you post a question on Ebay’s Facebook page. A comment on one of Ebay’s marketing posts won't be answered, but comments posted directly on Ebay’s page will.

The fact I have, is that the account holder's name and the address on the sales record (in eBay) match the name and address in Paypal.
I'm pretty sure you can change the account holder's name... I'm assuming Trust and Safety can make sure the current owner of the account has always been the owner of the account? I can't imagine if it's a hijacked account I would send items to the owner, I would think they'd be directed to the scammer. (Ever notice sometimes the buyer and recipient are two different names? in my case it's usually a husband and wife, or a business and individual).
FWIW, I did call and it was looked into (through their methods of checking) and they told me it looked like it was a legitimate purchase. I don't know what he purchased over a year ago, but he's been buying a lot of reasonably expensive coins in the past few weeks. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being scammed. I base a lot of my decisions on gut feeling, and that's why I checked into this purchase.
