Hey everybody!
I was hoping to get some advice as I believe one of my buyers is looking for any reason to give me negative feedback. It started with the buyer messaging me about one of my items and if they could get it for a lower price. After informing them that there was no budging on the price (and being absolutely professional and courteous) they continued to message me, bringing up my 100% positive feedback score multiple times. The following day, the buyer messaged me 6 times in 2 hours while I was away from the office asking where I was, why I was not responding to messages, if I could alter the product to include different items, and again saying I need to lower the price. None of this is possible with this particular item and I have explained that to the user several times. After seeing this, I decided it was not worth my time and I decided to block the user (the user also has 0 feedback).
The next day, I see a purchase from a completely different user and think nothing of it, process the shipping and place it in the mail. The purchase happened after my last USPS pick-up, so it will have to be picked up the following day. An hour after the purchase is made, this buyer messages me. They demand to know why it was not shipped right then and there, and I explained that I have a one-day handling period and that they missed the cutoff for same-day shipping. The next message made me realize that it was the same user I had blocked the previous day. They started demanding that I change the shipping to 2-day Priority, and making comments that the package I just shipped should be at their location on Monday, no exceptions. I finally got fed up with trying to deal with them after numerous messages and said "Listen, the item has already been shipped First Class USPS. Have a nice day."
This account also has 0 feedback. I'm really just concerned this is going to bite me in the ass, as I have just become a Top Rated seller and I think this jerk is looking for any reason to ruin my reputation. I have reported this to eBay just to explain what was happening, but no response so far. Does anyone have any advice or similar experiences they care to share? I appreciate any and all information. Thank you!

I want to be clear, I am referring to opening a complaint on a buyer on a ACTIVE OPEN AUCTION, ebay rep assured me neither party can leave feedback, good or bad. Now after the case is closed they might be able to, that I do not know.
Take care.
Well of course you can't leave feedback on active open auction it hasn't closed yet! Good greif!

You are a breath of fresh air. We need many more like you leaving helpful positive comments to make the community and ebay an inviting safe place for people to share their insight, right or wrong. My hope is the education system is filled with insightful positive people such as your comments display. The world will be a better place.
Best wishes.

From what I've read of collectfest messages in this thread they've been trying to be helpful to the op ,, which is why this forum exists . I don't think it's here so posters can make fun of others by insinuating they are stupid . Tulips

Unless this is a recent change or another unwritten policy, I've never heard of reporting a buyer being called a case, nor would a report block feedback.
The only case I can think of for a seller to file on a buyer is the item not paid case, and if closed not paid for, then feedback is blocked. I also recall that if a buyer files a not as described case, and somehow the seller wins, that also blocks feedback.
I've pretty much stopped using the block buyer feature since it was disclosed that it doesn't guarantee protection if ebay feels the buyer just wants the item and doesn't want to harm me. I'm not all that confident in relying on one rep's ability to discern the difference. Once a buyer finds out they are blocked, I fear the desire to harm to me might increase, so I just take my chances.

Greetings,
It has mentioned several times that you cannot leave feedback on an open case. I agree. What the ebay rep stated is after the case is closed they could not leave negative feedback BECAUSE I WAS IN THE RIGHT. They stated this would be considered retaliatory feedback AND WOULD BE REMOVED. Period. If you are in the wrong, what's the point. Take care of the customers needs and move on.
Good luck, my last thoughts on this issue.
Best wishes
