I have an old police badge, around 50 to 60 years old.....i started an auction and right away Ebay took it down...I checked and there are hundreds if not thousands of similar badges on ebay. I found one that was the same age just a different department and the auction lasted 5 days. When I asked ebay why this one is allowed and mine isn't, they said they can't find them all, so I sent the link to the one similar to mine with already 18 bids on it thinking they would tell me why it is allowed and mine wasn't....No intelligible reply...and the other badge went on with over 20 bids with nothing happening but a hefty sale...any ideas?

Just a comparison...mine is the South Carolina one...as far as looks go, both look around the same age.....As far as impersonating an officer goes one could be as convincing as the other.....an old west sheriffs badge could also be convincing, just sayin....I'm not crying about what's fair and what's not, just trying to understand why mine out of thousands was accused of being against policy...

Did you list it in Collectibles?

The seller needs to list the item in the Collectibles category.

Ebay's policy in practice does not match its written policy. We follow guidelines and the Ebay police enforce something much different. This is a problem that we all need to complain about

khoros mods---please make old threads read only to avoid locking as soon as someone posts to them. It happens pretty much every day. Posters do not know the threads will almost immediately be locked and they need to start new threads. They just stop coming back instead.
