I haven't sold any items on ebay for a while, though I buy all the time.  I am having a problem giving ebay my bank information.  I am trying to contact an agent for help and they are making almost imposible to contact them.  Does anyone know a phone number I can call?

While no one here can give you that phone number if you come back and tell us what is going on there is a very good chance of getting a good correct answer to your questions. 

You trying to add a checking account to receive payments, what messages are you getting? 

Have you made sure that the information on eBay, name address, are exactly the same as your checking account?

Do not call any # that you may find on the internet.

99.9999999999999999 % chance that it will be a scammer answering and they will be happy to steal any info that you provide to them.

The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

Yes, trying to add checking account to receive payments.  I put in my info and "Invalid credentials" pop up.  I know the information is correct.  I even changed my password and it doesn't recognize my account.  My address with ebay matches my checking account.

Some "banks" are not really "banks" and ebay does not recognize them as such. I apologize, I do not have a list, but I have seen members have problems with various 2nd and 3rd tier level "banks" and Credit unions. I have seen people say they used Green Dot (whatever that is) as an alternative. There are more knowledgeable folks that may chime in. The error message is not specific enough in any case, and may even be misleading.

Might I add......many people open a new, separate account strictly for ebay transactions. Personally, I have 6 accounts at one bank...3 ebay accounts, 1 amazon account, B&M account (LLC) and my original personal account. All with online real time access. It is sweet and simple. Everyday I sweep the accounts into one account that is not connected to anything. Kind of like poor mans security.

I tried the last thing you mentioned.  There were two options 1) FAO 2) speak with an agent--it was grayed out and wouldn't let me click on it.  I am beyond frustrated.

Do you bank at a credit union by chance? eBay uses the federal reserve banks ACH system to do their deposits the same system most employers use to do payroll deposits. 

Not all credit unions are online with the federal reserve bank. If they are not, they usually contract with another bigger credit union or bank to accept direct deposits. If that is the case you need to contact your credit union to get the routing number of the credit union or bank they contracting with.

Here in Canada some of the online banks like Tangerine which are subsidiaries of the major banks do not play well with eBay.

The only answer is to use a different bank.

It is a Good Idea in any case to keep online purchasing and selling accounts separate from household accounts.

I had a problem because our registered name on ebay didn't include a middle initial which was on our bank records.  I also couldn't add it to ebay, so we added the middle initial to our registered first name with a space (Joe A) and that worked for this problem.

Not all bank accounts meet eBay's requirements.  It has to be a checking account.  All the information on the bank account (name & address) has to be an exact match to information provided when you registered for eBay.   A missing middle initial or street designation (avenue road, court, etc) can throw it off.

Click on "have us call you" on the left side. Only way I've been able to get in contact with a real person.

"Have us call you" option no longer exists... or it's missing due to a bug.  The only option is chat with the automated agent. When you type agent, it now forces you to send an email, which "will be responded to in 24-48 hours".  What kind of crap is that?!  I'm a professional seller running a business!

Reply to feedback option is also missing...

Bugs, or are we now getting even worse service from eBay?!

Sometimes this type message is shown because all agents are tied up or the call center is not open. From what I understand, it is not open 24/7.
