Ebay customer support is currently useless. I need to speak to an agent in the UNITED STATES regarding the recent Ebay 1099 requirement / issue and them not letting me enter my IRS issued business tax id number. I've requested a call back many times and it always comes in from some foreign country. I am NOT going to give someone in a foreign country my tax information. So NOW WHAT?
Ebay, ARE YOU LISTENING????

After literally trying 20 times, I still get offshore agents. So I guess I close the account. Great job ebay....

The only way I ever try to contact eBay is via a direct message thru Twitter to @AskeBay

Don't have twitter. You shouldn't need a 3rd party app to contact a vendor.....

And I'm sure who ever is answering is also offshore.... With your tax ID and all the information they'd need to steel your identity...

I absolutely cannot agree more. I don't understand, with all the people who want to work in the U.S. why there is still no way to get through to a U.S. rep. I find that the offshore help is only good for very simple problems, and they don't have the tools to help resolve difficult issues.

I suppose you have it all figured out. Good luck.

You shouldn't need to, but that's the way it is. You can also reach US GOOD Reps that can actually get things done by contacting them through facebook (ebay for business).

Why do people keep saying we have to use other platforms, **bleep**ter and Facebooger, to use ebay. I got off facebooger a long time ago, and I've never used **bleep**ter.
Why would I go to a competition's site, to contact ebay's reps? How does that make sense? Did I miss ebay being bought out by Facebooger or google or something?

Why do we say it?
Because that's how it works
That is what works best
You can sign up again for FB in 2 minutes.
I don't have it or use it-except for this reason.
In life you can fight against the grain for no other reason than standing up for a belief or for yourself.
But you are really just standing in your own way to success.
You are being given a gift of a work-around so do as suggested or just keep talking to offshore reps and getting nowhere.

You have somewhat missed eBay in 2020-2021. The OP needs help getting a US Rep. Tell 'em how it is done.

So, what you're saying, is that I literally have to get through to a rep on Twitter or FB? Really? That's what I have to do? Set up an account on those garbage platforms, just so I can talk to the reps of this company?
Seems kinda weird, but I'll try it. I wont use those platforms for anything else, I hate both of them, but if that's where the reps are I will have to use it just for that.

OK, if that's how it is, that's how it is. I hate both of those platforms, but if that's where the U.S. reps are.......

I just stated above, that is how I do it. I have had good success with Twitter so I have not had to try Facebook. I have not tried to call eBay in about 4 years and have only had to contact them by Twitter about 2 or 3 times, mostly in the last year. I happened to have had some sharp to fairly sharp Reps. Others mileage may vary.

Again, thanks, I just didn't know. And I hate hate hate all those censorship heavy platforms.
