On my selling account, I have a basic store subscription... I'm kind of "semi-retired" on Ebay currently, so when my subscription is up in a few months, I'm thinking of cancelling it.
What "perks" do I really have WITH my store? I can't even remember what they are. The shipping supplies coupon (kind of useless), vacation settings, etc.
It's been so long having the store...

I had a basic store for a couple of years until recently. My biggest take away was the amount of items you list can determine if the cost justifies the purchase. If you are considering listing 1000 or more items, it may make sense because you will get a discount on fees (you would have to check specifics) You also can run sales and promotions on your inventory which i took advantage of but was not as important. With the amount of free listings you get from the start, it may not make any sense to do.

I base my decision on the number of listings I have. If the math makes sense to pay for a store to save listing fees, then I keep it. Vacation setting isn't a perk now, since time away is now available to everyone.

Youre best bet is to sell somewhere else. Ebay is extremely unfriendly to sellers. Their fees are high and they are outright predatory in their transparency of fees and other charges. I cant wait to have everything off of here and somewhere else

Yet here you are with what appears to be a nice little business.
Ebay is not the most expensive site to sell on nor is it the cheapest. If your goal is to sell cheaper, you can find sites out there where the fees are less. With that, you can cut down on your fees. But you also are likely to be cutting down on your sales as the traffic isn't as good on some other sites.
"...they are outright predatory in their transparency of fees and other charges." What does this mean as it appears to contradict itself.

FYI, vacation settings are no loner exclusive to Store subscribers. eBay now calls that option "Time away" and it's available to all sellers.

I have the most inexpensive store offers and really like it. I find it helpful that I can have different categories for my shoppers. The people looking at my antique tools might not want to wade through my vintage posters or antique dishware to see what I offer that they are interested in. I also benefit from running sales. Paying $7.95 a month is well worth it to me.

That is a starter store and it is a great way to build your business. Once you grow enough to be consistently listing about 300+ listings a month, move to a Basic store as it will be more cost effective for you.
I wish you GREAT success on Ebay.

Kind of useless? What do you use? Old pizza boxes?
Good grief.
I wrap everything in tissue paper before sending it to buyers. They love that.
It's nice that I only have to pay a few bucks for it after using the coupon.

Although you posted on an old thread, I am going to respond to you.
Do not consider Amazon. Many of your items cannot be listed there. Others will require preauthorization before you can list. Some will not be listable without a UPC. Amazon is more buyer-friendly and less seller friendly than Ebay. Fees are not lower.
You will need to find a low traffic site which does not have many people selling what you own because there are no other high traffic sites for what you sell.
