How do I go about removing Paypal as a payment option. Because of their recent changes I'm going to close my account. I don't agree with their view on most things and I will not pay any $2500 fines imposed on me.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
PayPal is not Congress. They can restrict what people use their service for in any way they want.

we are not talking about "restricting what people use the service for" we are talking about paypal handing out $2500 tickets if you say something that they do not like, you do not see the problem with this?

As far as I know it has to be in conjunction with the use of PayPal's service. So, if you used them to pay for or collect money for something that spreads misinformation, they can fine you. They can't fine you for doing something that has nothing to do with them.

Exactly.
They’re not bugging every PayPal user to listen in to their private conversations. They’re not tracking users’ Facebook activity to see if they’re Westboro Baptist Church members.
This is what it says:
“In connection with your use of our websites, your PayPal account, the PayPal services, or in the course of your interactions with PayPal, other PayPal customers, or third parties, you will not:”
If only people actually read before setting their hair on fire to run around screaming “PayPal is infringing on my 1st amendment rights!!!”

Whoa.... That's terrifying to me there's people that actually don't see a problem with these PayPal terms and conditions. 🤯

Why shouldn’t PayPal get to decide what their services are used for?

It's similar to how eBay is starting to suspend people's accounts for having "hateful" books. (You probably have seen the thread)
Yeah that is eBay's right and they're not breaking the law or anything but it's an extremely dangerous precedent because we're talking about our right for free speech.
There's a huge movement to try to get people to not say things that offend people and it's scary af.
If only people could see the bigger picture as to where things are heading if they let this happen...

Personally, what I find scary, is people getting mad about not able to be racist, homophobic, or sexist without no repercussions whatsoever.
People in America can see head to their town square with their tiki torches all they want (that’s their first amendment right), but shouldn’t be surprised to find some people want to cut ties with them.
“ If only people could see the bigger picture as to where things are heading if they let this happen...”
I bet people were saying the same thing while America was being de-segregated

Have you ever seen the YouTube Video called "In Shadow"?
It's artistic and animated without words. Sort of like I pet goat ii if you have ever heard of that.
I would be curious what you thought of it.

Free speech as a right refers specifically to the fact that the government can't make laws that censor you.
We have no right to free speech on private platforms like ebay and PayPal. These are not the government, and it is absolutely their right to restrict what content appears on their platform and what content their platform is associated with, which means that no, there is nothing wrong with this specific PayPal term of use.
Any movements to get people to not say offensive things is coming from the people - private citizens and entities - themselves, not from the government. As long as the government is not infringing on your right to free speech, all of this is fine.

Not a fan of Jungian psychology as had too much of a tendency of veering into mystical/metaphysical territory, which lends itself well to that short film, which is artistically well made but a bit too “out there” for my taste.
When it comes to applied psychology, Carl Jung’s theories are hard to render tangibly for that exact reason. Which is understandable for the period he’s from but doesn’t stand much to the test of time.
Doesn’t help that he was buddies with Goering which kind of taints his whole body of work for me.

I'm really impressed that you actually gave it a shot and watched it thank you so much!
I'm not a Republican or a Democrat I really think the Elite just pit them against each other. I just mostly worry about 1984 types scenarios if we give away too many of our rights. I would never defend someone who's acting hatefully homophobic or racist ....but I just see a slippery slope with censoring speech based on who it offends ( I guess you could call me a conspiracy theorist)
But anyway so cool that you actually watched that video!

Buyers can still use PayPal to pay a seller, but sellers can't use PP to process their money. When a buyer pays with PP, it goes into your Managed Payment account.
I know others have asked @jabarno54 but I hope you will come back and explain to us what this $2500 in fines are all about. I still have my PP account and I do not have any fines.

If you get some time, go and pop into that thread. The issue has been resolved.

We have recently seen proof that big tech has in the past at least worked with the powers that be in Washington to do exactly that, as far as I am concerned when it comes to big tech, guilty until proven innocent.
