How do I go about removing Paypal as a payment option. Because of their recent changes I'm going to close my account. I don't agree with their view on most things and I will not pay any $2500 fines imposed on me.

What makes you think you have a right to free speech with paypal?
...because you don't, you never did and you never will.
You don't have free speech here in these forums either, did you know that?

Hi @jabarno54
Sellers don’t choose buyers’ payment options … so can’t remove any that eBay puts in their listings.
You are free to close your own PayPal account if wish. That won’t affect your selling in any way … just your buying.
Go to www.paypal.com to close it.

You cannot remove PayPal as a payment choice as eBay is the one that gives this payment choice to buyers. You are not receiving the money from PayPal. eBay is receiving the money from the buyers Paypal and then paying you thru Managed Payments. You have absolutely nothing to do with getting the payment from Paypal and do not have to have an account there so feel free to close your account.

He's referring to something that appeared in the terms and conditions recently in PayPal that basically says they can fine you that amount for saying something they don't agree with. There was such a backlash and a bunch of people canceled their accounts and their stock dropped so they made a public announcement that they were going to remove that from the terms and conditions... but then they never did.
OP, Just cancel your own PayPal account. People being able to pay you on eBay with their PayPal will not allow PayPal to bill you for speaking out of Woke.

They did. But then they reinstated it.

It's all part of the future of censoring our speech.
Paypal can "withdraw $2500 from your account for each time they believed you “promot[ed] misinformation” or you sent, posted or published “messages, content, or materials that, in PayPal’s sole discretion, (a) are harmful, obscene, harassing, or objectionable.”
If they deemed you to promote messages they objected to 10 times, or to have spread misinformation (in their sole discretion) 10 times, they could take $25,000 from your account. If your PayPal balance was $0 they presumably could withdraw funds from your linked accounts."
I can't post the link to the article I got this but it is easy to google

They backed out and then 2 weeks later they put it back in

Wouldn't you be better off asking PayPal? This is an eBay forum.

Amex doesn’t allow the use of its services to pay for porn in the US.
PayPal doesn’t allow the use of its service for the sale of merch, or donations to people or organizations that promote hate speech.

Uh, we are talking about paypal punishing people for exercising 1 amendment rights ANYWHERE! Not just on a paypal platform. It could be a sign in your yard
