Payments

Ebay keeps on telling me that my account’s info are not accurate. I am Canadian but have an American address and bank account. I entered both my adresses in my profile. I sent a colored copy of my latest American bank statement. My bank tells me that I have a routing number. Can I use this info to finally get paid? Can we talk with someone at EBay? Thanks.

That may be the source of your difficulty.

You might want to refer to the page below:

Re: Payments

     You may need to contact eBay support through one of the social media sites. If your account information is correct in your user profile then it is possible there are other issues. I remember some postings awhile ago where certain banks were not supporting the eBay electronic payment transfers.

     When I initially setup my managed payment account a few years ago eBay used to run a micro deposit test prior to converting you over to MP. Maybe they no longer do that test prior to allowing you to list items.

Re: Payments

Don't know, but being registered in Canada might be the problem.

Re: Payments

'copy of American bank statement'...and that shows the 'logo' on it...correct?...logo must be on it.

Bank of America is not very compatible...if that is the bank.

Address: can't be a P O Box as an address.

Just thoughts.

@jolve51

Your registered address is in Canada, which to eBay means you have tax liability and obligations to Canada, not the USA.

I'm pretty sure that with a registered address in Canada, you have to provide a Canadian bank account to receive payments. If you signed up with a USA bank account, then eBay would be obliged to send 1099-K forms to the IRS in the USA, for example.

Re: Payments

Are you an American citizen or a legal permanent resident in the US? If not then you MUST register for Managed Payments on eBay.ca and use Canadian bank accounts.

When you register for Managed Payments on .ca you will get a one time opportunity to choose to receive funds in US Dollars. This only makes sense if you are listing primarily on eBay.com

If you continue to try getting set up on .com and you are not a citizen/permanent resident with an SSN/ITIN you will end up with a permanently suspended account.

Re: Payments

You need your home address to match the address on your bank statement which matches a pictured/government ID.

So if ANY of those state Canada with a mixture of USA, you will NOT be able to complete signing up that bank.

As others have stated, use Canada ID, Canada Bank with matching addresses on both.

Your items are in Florida?

Yet you are in Canada?

I would assume they are probably snowbirds.

Canadian residents can spend up to 6 months (182 days) in the USA each year. But they're not allowed to work in the USA without a visa or work permit.

@12345jamesstamps

Why isn't Bank of America "very compatible"?  I've been using it since the day I entered MP in August of 2020 and have never had any issue with the bank or with Ebay regarding my bank of choice.

Great point about the PO Box.

Re: Payments

It is some states...not all states.

I think Georgia is one state that is not very compatible.

We hear it from time to time on this platform as well.

Re: Payments

A fun fact:

which bank gives free checking(not free checks of course)  with a routing number and a debit card with no minimum balance for those over 65 years of age. This is where it's handy to have a second banking in case of a problem with the first banking. US Bank.

Back in 2020/2021 I heard some stories of issues, but that was on Ebay's side not the bank.  As far as I know this was fixed a long time ago.  I personally have not heard of a single issue regarding BOA since the onboarding period.  Are you saying there has been problems recently?  Do you have any links?  I would like to read them to update myself, I'm not trying to do anything else.  I just want to make sure I understand.
