So I've always used the same email in my Payment information when listing....always. It's my main email I'll never get rid of it...well I might when I get married since it has my exs last name but by then I won't be selling either. Anyhow I have other emails on my eBay account but have never used them for payment. Well any time I've listed it just has a place to enter an email address. Which that email address has always stayed the same and preset in listings. I sold something noticed I hadn't been paid and hadn't had an unpaid item case opened. Noticed in my eBay it says unpaid but also says ready to ship and shows a view PayPal transaction link...uh oh. So I click revise item and sure enough went to a email address not associated with PayPal. I'm like how. So I go to looking at my other listings. It no longer just has where I enter an email address it has choices with check marks to the one selected...some listings show all three of the choices on my account some only show two. However all the listings had check marks all over the place using all three email address ultimately two not even associated with my PayPal. I've tried adding the email to PayPal to accept the payment and it just isn't working so here is hoping the buyer is understanding.
Funny part is when I went to revise the listings to put in the correct address it was like there is an error email address not associated with PayPal...duh so how did it happen.

You need to call PayPal and explain your problem there. This is not your buyer's fault in any way, shape or form, so try to work it out so that they can get their item.
If the money is hanging out there unclaimed at that email address, can you try logging in to that email account and responding to the payment notification that is presumably waiting for you there?

Why not? What's happening? You should call PayPal.

I know it's not the buyers issue. Just hoping they will understand. Told them if they cancel the payment I can relist and let them buy with a correct email. All I know to do right now.
As as for why I can't I know don't. I added it. PayPal sent me an email confirming but it still shows not confirmed.

I'd end all your other listings until you get it figured out. Then you can relist. The last thing you need is more than one of these.

I already edited all the other listings to the correct email. If it changes again I don't even know but I'll keep a check. Last time I listed it was still just a spot to enter the email address and not like this.

You should call PayPal because the verification could be as simple as the click of a button on their end- why put your buyer through the inconvenience of having to cancel their payment and repurchase if you may not have to? That should be the last resort and if you get to that stage you can cancel the transaction on your end and that should reverse the payment. Then you could make a new listing.
I'm confused how you have 3 e-mail accounts available in the first place if none of them were used for payments before. How are that many e-mails part of your eBay account?

I had this happen once when I listed an item on ebay motors (something I hadn't done before) and I didn't notice the email address was auto-filled in with a wrong address.
I was able to add that email address to my paypal account and the payment then went through okay.
To the poster asking why have more than one email--I have more than one ID which each requires a separate email address, but I use only one for all my payments.

I was going for quick solution as calling PayPal isn’t an option until later this afternoon. And wanted to let the buyer know as soon as I realized the issue anyhow. I don’t know when they paid and they be sitting wondering why I haven’t claimed it so I felt it was important to message them when I discovered it. I don’t think if I cancel that it will refund since I don’t have access to the funds to refund...either way I again didn’t want to cancel without first contacting the buyer

Are you able to log in to the email address that received the buyer's payment? You may find a confirmation message waiting for you from PayPal that you would need to acknowledge before the payment can be collected. Can you get into the email account at that address?

In your example each ID has a separate e-mail with only one e-mail for payment. That's how it works for me, too.
In the OP's example they had 3 different payment e-mails on a single account and 2 of those e-mails were never used for payments. That's why it's confusing to me- where is eBay finding those e-mails if she never used them for payments?
Each eBay account has 1 (or more) e-mail for payments and 1 e-mail for general account registration and communication. I'm confused how her account has 3 e-mails for payments when 2 of them were never linked to PayPal. I'm making an assumption she never used them for payments, so where did they come from?

I know what you are saying, but my email was never linked to paypal either but it showed up in my listing anyway.
