Re: Payment preference

SELLERS required to switchover to MANAGED PAYMENTS (EBAY no longer uses PayPal to handle payments).   Go to HELP and search MANAGED PAYMENTS you can sign up there.   MANAGED PAYMENTS is required if you want to continue selling on EBAY.

With MANAGED PAYMENTS money is deposited into your CHECKING ACCOUNT 3-5 days after sale. EBAY deducts shipping costs & EBAY fees (whatever is leftover deposited in your CHECKING ACCOUNT).

You will need to provide CHECKING ACCOUNT routing# and SOCIAL SECURITY# (for tax purposes). Names must be EXACT MATCH on your checking account, social security and EBAY profile page. If names don't match EXACTLY your application will be rejected and you will be required to provide additional information.

Because money no longer goes into your PayPal account....after you have been approved for MP you need to change SHIPPING LABELS and MONTHLY STATEMENT to Managed Payments.    Next time you print label AFTER YOU APPPLICATION APPROVED (go to bottom of page) and click on box to change to Managed Payments. You need to also change Monthly Statement to Managed Payments.

MP is completely different from PayPal. With MP deposits are (net amount after shipping & fees deducted). Sometimes one sale will get processed faster than another (possible to get PAYOUT for Wednesday sale BEFORE sale made on Monday). PAYOUT will also lump together sales from different days. Can be very unpredictable and confusing.

Re: Payment preference

With all due respect, the copy/paste comments you're posting on every Managed Payments thread isn't really all that helpful to members who aren't asking those questions.

The OP isn't even enrolled in Managed Payments.

I would suggest (and it's only a suggestion) that you double check the email address you used when you signed up with PayPal--which means, go to your PayPal account and check it.

Then confirm that email address matches the one you have listed in eBay character for character. You could even delete it completely and reenter it, just to make sure.

I see you have one item listed. I assume that listing process went smoothly? No error messages when you listed that one?

Re: Payment preference

I’m not comfortable with this!  Multiple transactions via a bank account can get extremely confusing?  I spoke with my bank and they said the following:  1.  That is very risky!  2. What happens in a week if you sale many big ticket items, have shipped them, and then find out eBay is  CB in financial trouble  is hit with a lawsuit or audit- their funds may be frozen meaning you shipped and no longer have the product and you aren’t paid! There is no way a buyer is going to wait 5 to 7 days for you to ship the item while you wait to be reimbursed! My banker said it sounds like they are in financial trouble!

Re: Payment preference

You need to read the tutorial on Managed Payments.

Sounds like your “banker” is confused.

You have the same deposits going into your bank account from PayPal when you made a withdrawal.

If you don’t like the wait time (5 business days) for your funds, then extend your handling time to allow for this.

@srodri9149

If you are trying to list an item with Immediate Payment Required and seeing an error message about your PayPal address and you are sure you are using the correct email address, try listing without that Immediate Payment Requirement.

You may need to upgrade your PayPal account to use that feature.

@treasuresbycatherine

You'll want to start your own thread (discussion) about your concern. The Original Poster (OP) has presented a situation that is totally different from the one you've posted about.

In order for the two discussions to remain separate, with other members commenting on only the OP's situation, it's best not to bring up your own topics in someone else's thread.

You might want to go to the "Payments" board and post a new discussion there. That's where all the threads/discussions concerning Managed Payments are being posted.

Re: Payment preference

If memory serves me that warning doesn't have any thing to do with the Pay Pal e-mail

address on your listings (How you get paid). I think they want you to update and confirm

your automatic payment method for your monthly invoice (How eBay gets paid) for their

fees if you owe them anything. Try this and see if it helps.

Re: Payment preference

I think eunster1313 might be correct above. I know that paypal just issued a bunch of new debit cards, and if you had that set as your automatic payment method and it expired at the end of December, the issue might be that you need to update that card.

Re: Payment preference

Also, if you've been notified that you need to sign up for managed payments, and the required date has passed, they probably cut you off from listing until you do sign up for managed payments. I got a notification that I was no longer able to list or revise items in November. I haven't tried to list anything since, so I don't know if it would give that error or not.
