I am a seller ( new) and opted for the “management payment system” with EBay. I notice that PayPal is listed as a payment method along with the other payment instruments. I don’t have a PayPal account as it’s not required, so when a buyer asks for my PayPal email address I have to advise that I’m not a member and to use another payment instrument. That usually concludes the conversation and the re-listing of the item. If I need to do something differently, please, I’m open to suggestions.
Thanks.

Hey @micdemop0. Do not text outside of eBay. Keep all communication within eBay message system. These people are attempting to scam you by getting your e-mail and sending fake payment notifications. You lucked out by not having a PayPal account. If someone asks you to add a gift card to their order, don't do it.

While buyers can still use PP to pay, sellers are now paid only by Managed Payments, not PP.

There is absolutely no need for a buyer to ask for your PayPal email address.
When they do that, they are trying to scam you.
Are these buyer making offers? If so, IMHO you should stop accepting them and jut lower your price instead.
BTW you did not "opt" for managed payments - it is the ONLY option.

I think you're very confused. In several ways. First off, you didn't "opt" for Managed Payments. It's your ONLY option. HOWEVER, that is different than what options buyers have to pay! Buyers have MANY ways they can pay & they absolutely can pay with Paypal & you don't need to be a 'member' of Paypal! You don't need to do ANYTHING to accept PP payments. It is automatic just b/c you are selling on eBay.
Managed Payments is who PROCESSES the payments for YOU! That's different than the instrument the buyer pays with. They have a lot of choices of what instrument to use from Paypal, ApplePay or Googlepay, credit cards, & a whole host of other options. ANYONE can pay ANY SELLER with Paypal on eBay. You DO NOT have to have a PP account.
Lastly, the buyer does NOT need your PP email to pay with PP. If they are asking you for that, they are a scammer. All they have to do to pay with PP is click on PP, when they check out. It's that simple!

You didn't "opt" for managed payments, it was the only option available. PayPal does not process any payments for sellers on eBay any more. Buyers can still use PayPal to pay, but even then, the payments are processed by managed payments, not PayPal.
When a "buyer" asks you for your PayPal account, they are trying to scam you. They can just pay with PayPal through eBay. If they ask for an email address, it's 110% scam.
Your answer to these scammers is perfect. Just keep it up. If you use fixed price listings, then they can't buy the item without paying, so that would cut down on the attempted scams.

Yes, you certainly need suggestions! And warnings, too, it seems.
You cannot "opt into" Management Payments. If you want to get paid for your sales, you have no choice but to use it, as there is no other "option" to get paid by eBay. So it's a good idea that you joined up with MP.
You do not need to have a PayPal account as a seller. It is primarily for buyers to use in order to purchase from you. Payments from eBay to you for your sales have nothing to do with PayPal anymore.
If a buyer asks for your email address, as you mentioned, it is almost certainly the beginnings of a scam attempt against you. NEVER, EVER respond to any type of email contact from a seller that asks for your email address, asks you to purchase and include a gift card for the recipient, or asks you to take the sale outside of eBay or off of eBay's messaging system. If you do, you will probably receive a fake payment email in return saying you have been paid when you haven't. Report that buyer and add their buyer ID to your Blocked Bidder List (BBL). ONLY ship your item when eBay says in your Seller Hub, under Orders/Awaiting Shipment, that it is time to ship.
Read up on all the seller information from eBay, as you are a new seller, and VERY susceptible to being a scam victim if you don't know what you're doing, and especially if you have dollar signs in your eyes and try to sell expensive, highly-scammed items from the start.
Finally, read up on all the heartbreaking scams on this board, that have made many victims -- generally new sellers with 0 feedback. You have a target on your back right now, and scammers are just waiting for you to slip up and try to sell something of high-value that you otherwise cannot afford to lose in addition to your payment for it. This is particularly important because of many shipping and returns scams. Read up on them!
To keep this short, that's all I will say for now... Other seasoned sellers here will add to it...
Be Smart, and Good Luck!
Cheers, Duffy

OOPSIE... I said, "...NEVER, EVER respond to any type of email contact from a seller that asks for your email address..." I meant from a buyer, not from a seller.

There is no reason on this planet for a legitimate buyer to ask you for your Paypal information.
ALL of these are signs of a scam:
1. Buyer asks for your email address, Paypal address
2. Buyer sends you a phone number to text/call him/her
3. Buyer asks you to buy gift cards to go with the order
4. Buyer asks you to send the item to a different address after paying
5. Buyer wants you to send the item overnight/express and will pay you a lot extra to do this
6. Buyers says that they cannot pay through the eBay website and sends you a link to click on so that the payment will go through
7. Buyer offers more for your item than the price you have it listed for
All contact should always be through Ebay messages. Do NOT, under any circumstances, give your phone number or email address to a buyer. Do not send a Paypal invoice, either. Your email address can be found on the invoice. Do not click links that claim to fix a buyer's payment issue. There is no legitimate link for buyers to fix a payment issue.
Never, ever contact a buyer outside of Ebay messages, EVER. Period.
No legitimate buyer needs any of these things, and no legitimate buyer will give up their Ebay buyer protection by paying off site. Your "buyer" wants your email or phone number so they can send you a very real looking, but very fake payment email. They are hoping you are too inexperienced to verify the payment. There will be NO PAYMENT, only a fake email saying you've been paid and you must ship immediately so the payment can be released. This is a lie. This person wants you to ship your item without being paid. They want to steal your stuff.
We seem to be getting closer and closer to a situation where nobody is responsible for what they did but we are all responsible for what somebody else did. - Thomas Sowell

The signs were present. Being new to the E BAY community, I appreciate your guidance.
Many thanks.
