Page views down, sales up. How does that work?

According to eBay’s traffic metrics my listing impressions and page views are down 49%, my click thorough rate and sales conversion are down 0.1% (essentially unchanged), yet my sales are up 10.6%. How is that possible?

All of those figures are at odds with each other so what good are they? What are they actually telling me?

I guess the ones they are looking at are working?

I don't know how they do anything around here. I have several things with 1 view but my sales are up 1000% according to them, so ?? Sounds like I am doing very well. I'm okay. Selling about 10 things a week. I don't know where that 1000 comes from. I'm a sporadic seller selling personal items from around the house for extra money so as long as a few things are selling I am happy and don't care to understand these numbers they are giving me. I realize that doesn't work for people who actually do this for a living. But I still assume that means they like what they are seeing, not as many people are looking at it and not buying

That is what I wrote yesterday.

Today, that same screen shows my listing impressions down by 6% and my page view down 4%. That is one helluva change in just one day. That just further confirms my opinion that the earlier numbers were bogus.

If we can not trust the numbers then what is the point of even showing them?
