Today I noticed the following on the packing slips I printed to include with my shipments
Note from "my name - not my eBay ID"
Thanks for your purchase! I
hope you love it!
I did NOT write this note. eBay wrote it and put it on the packing slip WITHOUT my approval. I consider this unfortunate at best, dishonest at worst.

@somanypcs You can edit what shows up on your packing slips - click into the packing slip itself, then "customize" - up will pop the customization window and you can select what you do and do not want on your packing slip. Click out and then print - the changes are 'sticky' from one packing slip to the next.

Of course eBay wrote it for you. eBay will control every aspect of your selling, your payout, your sleeping habits, eating habits, etc, etc.... eBay will also determine the price you will list your items for. Once you are a seller on eBay and...

Thanks, I will use this to fix my packing slips. I can't mark this as the solution to this issue however, as the solution is for eBay to NEVER put words in my or other sellers' mouths. eBay should remove all the "Note from <seller name>" comments they made in sellers' names without first notifying ang getting seller approval.

Um, then you are not understanding how solutions work for this forum. @chapeau-noir just gave you a great work around that you are acknowledging you will now use. Saying that's great advice but I want eBay to permanently make this change is similar to one of your buyers leaving you a negative saying, while the item arrived quickly and was exactly as described I can't leave you anything positive as there wasn't a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer which I believe should be included.... Best of luck to you....

It's just a sample template, and we're supposed to refine it to what we want.

You do know that your name and address is printed on the shipping label !?!?
I don't see a problem with having your name on the packing slip ---- it is from you, isn't it !?!?

The shipping label can also be edited to have your user name rather than your real name printed.

I think it is problematic when eBay introduces or changes information that users think is provided by the seller. If I hadn't happened to notice that eBay added a note on the packing slip, then obviously I wouldn't edit it. In other discussions it is shown that eBay does or did crop seller photos to make them rectangular, fills in item specifics that the seller left blank which are sometimes inaccurate, changes the description on smart phones, etc. eBay should NOT do this, or at a minimum should notify sellers when they do add or alter seller info.

It is also the seller's responsibility to know what can and cannot be edited and what items are default. It's a double edge sword, you can't expect ebay to hold your hand 24/7 either and customize your preferences for you.
The bottom line is that your seller account is YOUR responsibility and that includes anything that goes out on your behalf or in your representation or doesn't go out, for that matter. If you don't like something, change it...there is certainly the option to do so in this case.

To misquote a phrase........ Ebay is darned if they do, darned if they don't.....
If they don't put a suggestion in, some sellers will ask "what are we supposed to put in the box", some will ignore the box or never see it, some will put something inappropriate in it.........
personally, I'm certainly glad to see the changes to the packing slip.....along with all the choices.....especially the gift choice.....

It's a paper packing slip. I saw that note for the first time this morning after printing 15,000 of them over the past ten years. Nothing a pair of scissors can't solve right before I write my handwritten "Thank you" near the top of it as I have done 15,000 times before.

For those that find this, this only works from the Seller Hub. You need to select the drop down to print packing slip & more. If you print your packing slip from the same page where you purchase your shipping label, you only can select from the canned replies. The custom reply you created from Print packing slip & more is not there or an option.
Myself I like printing from the Purchase Shipping Label page as everything is in 1 place, not several.
Also the packing slip from the labels page is simpler which is good or bad depending on what you want to show, a full packing slip with the amounts or more of a simple note. Here you can customize
Only default from here

OK, I’m in the 99.9999999% pro-EBay group but that was still so funny I choked on my coffee. LOL.
