Though I don't disagree regarding essential items, and I despise profiteers, it can be debatable whether lysol and other cleaning supplies are really qualify as essential. Essential generally refers to things which you couldn't survive without, such as food, water, medicines, etc. In my opinion, the essentialness of an essential item would not be dependent upon a pandemic. When the pandemic is over, food, water, and medicines will still be essential. Lysol, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper will not be, nor were they before it started. This is all just my opinion, but I would be very interested to see what position the courts would take if someone ended up there for price gouging toilet paper or Lysol.
The essential nature of these items is indexed to the actual crisis. Sanitizing (Lysol, hand sanitizer, etc.) may not be essential in ordinary life, but it is during a virulent and lethal pandemic to prevent or at least mitigate the spread of this virus.
