Hello!
Is OtterBox a restricted item to sell on eBay? After a little research (I confess, it was just a brief one) I became more confused.
- restricted item ?
-Ok to post as long as posted "used"
Any help is appreciated!

"OtterBox has the exclusive right to use its trademarks and copyrights, which include product photos...", and it adds the following Q&A:
Q: Can I use OtterBox’s logo or other images owned by OtterBox to make my auction listing more appealing?
A: Unfortunately, this is not permitted. We do not authorize any of our resellers to sell on eBay, and as such, we do not allow the use of our logos or other images.

Yes, I read that. With that being said there are quite a few posted, obviously from unauthorized sellers, this is when I started scratching my head ...

The policy quoted in that post does not say whether OtterBox can be sold or not. It says you cannot use pictures that belong to OtterBox. You need to take your own pictures.

This is what I was leaning towards also. Needed a second opinion. Thanks.

I sold an Otterbox cable and didn't have any problem. I did take my own pictures of the front and back of the box. It was new.

"Are they vero. If so then yes ebay will take it down."
If the OP puts up an eBay listing for an authentic item with his own pictures and description, it would be an illegal takedown.

You are on ebay and are subject to their rules.
And we know how vero works on ebay. They call, ebay removes. And if you relist, down you go.
Whether or not it is legal, is irrelevant here on ebay.
We have seen it many times before here.

I will not do anything that may put a seller's account in jeopardy.

I sell my otterbox belt clips all the time as we don't use them
I have purchased many otterbox on ebay.
They are Vero but you just have to take your own pictures & you can't sell counterfit ones .
Read here at links below but here are 2 of the main Q&A
https://www.ebay.com/gds/vero-profile-otterbox/5849dde9c864282c3bc8f816/g.html
Q: Why was my auction removed? A: Your eBay auction was removed by eBay because we believe that the item being sold was counterfeit and/or infringes on our intellectual property.
Q: Can I use OtterBox’s logo or other images owned by OtterBox to make my auction listing more appealing? A: Unfortunately, this is not permitted. We do not authorize any of our resellers to sell on eBay, and as such, we do not allow the use of our logos or other images.

Use brand names appropriately
If you're selling a brand-name product, you can mention the brand name in your listing and include photos that you've taken of the item you're selling. However, don't suggest that you're an authorized dealer/reseller if you're not.

You might want to educate yourself on illegal Vero takedowns.
