Opening a second e-bay store

I want to start a second e-bay store. Any advice on doing that? Do I have to use my actual address?  I would hope to have it look like a totally different persona from me. TY

It might be worth noting why you want to make a second selling account. There are several people here with them. I forget their reasoning beyond store subscription tier limitations.

I have five selling accounts. One is inactive, three have Stores, one of the Stores is run by an employee.

They all use the same postal address and the same Paypal account.

You could if you wished open a new PP account (again with a new email address, but you can use the same bank accounts), and you can use a different address like a PO mailbox or a service like Mailboxes R Us. Or your mother's apartment.

To open each new account, I needed to use a different credit card.

Most of your customers will never notice that you have several accounts. Keep in mind that you are a lot less important to your customer than his purchase is.

Do you know the names of all the cashiers at your local supermarket?

Use different mailing labels on your envelopes, I guess.

You do know that you do not need to subscribe to a Store to sell here, right?

And that when you open the new account, the number and value of your listings will be restricted for a while. And your payments, even to your currently active PP account, will be Held against your customer service.

What do you mean by "address"? Do you mean contact email address?  Paypal email address? eBay registered address? eBay item location?

If you mean email addresses, you can use any email address you want.

If you mean registered eBay address, you must provide valid and accurate contact information.

If you mean item location, it must be accurate.

You just have to have another email address to use.  Your name and physical address can be the same.

Get a PO BOX or use a wife or girlfriend, etc. I have 4 stores. Me with 2 addresses and wife and son. I do it for tax reasons. Anything over $20,000.00 you have to turn in. If you know someone who is retired you can use them and get around the year end taxes if your doing over $20,000.00 a year. Stay safe...............Woody

Wow, tax evasion is bad enough, but suggesting doing that to others is off the chart.  You are supposed to report any income.  There is no rule that if you make $19,999.00 then you are off the hook.   The twenty thousand is just a threshold to receive a 1099k, it isn't the threshold to pay taxes.

I would open a second selling account, but hold off adding a store subscription until you have some transaction history on the account.   I have four selling accounts - two of which used to have store subscriptions.   All use the same paypal account and physical address - just different email addresses.   eBay just recently linked them on the sign in page.

You don't have to do that.  Certainly an option if one feels that will work best for them.  But your name and address can be the exact same on multiple accounts.  It is the email address that has to be different for each account.

You can even use the same PP account on all your Ebay accounts.

As to your assessment of when you need to report your income, you are completely wrong on that point.  Reaching the threshold for receiving a 1099K is NOT the same as when you need to report your income.  The two just aren't the same thing.

If you earn $400 on one account, $5,000 on another and $100 on another.  It ALL needs to be reported on your federal tax return.

This statement by you is absolutely NOT CORRECT "Anything over $20,000.00 you have to turn in."

IF all those accounts have your soc sec #, the money will all be reported under your #, if you have different paypal accounts under other people's soc sec #'s, they are responsible for reporting the income...........

I have two stores/selling accounts.

Both are in my name.

Both use the same mailing address

Both use the same personal information

Both are attached to the same checking account

Both are attached to the same credit card

Each account has a separate email address.     This is required.
