hey so I opened a case because I wanted to see if my buyer is a scammer. The item has been shipped and it shows the funds pending. I know new users have to wait 21 days for funds to be recieved unless you show tracking info and stuff which i did. With the case i opened it increased the days untill i recieve the funds. I want to know if i close the case will it change the amount of days because i know if i close the case i wont be able to open it again IF the buyer is a scammer.

Uh-oh..... you have sent a complete stranger your item before they paid, before their payment cleared, before it was securely in your account's possession. That's usually considered a gift.
Opening a case to get paid or request a return of merchandise after you've already sent it off doesn't result in either of these two preferred options happening. I think you're going to find you're out of luck, out your merchandise item, and with an empty wallet.
You can send an invoice for payment, but the buyer can simply ignore it, and probably will. Once in awhile we hear of a buyer who has such honor that they make their payment after the fact, but that is rare. Ebay likes to think and tell us that most people are honest. But when it comes to really putting that to the test.... most aren't!

If you do not have PayPal showing you funds have been received, then the eBay showing must be indicating waiting for an e-check to clear. Can you tell if this is the case?
A seller never ships out the merchandise until PayPal shows the payment is received and complete, and they give the go-ahead to ship. Otherwise, a seller stands the chance of a buyer cancelling/stopping his e-check payment and simply not paying after all. And if the seller has jumped-the-gun and shipped the item, he's going to be really, really out of luck and sorry for it.

As the other poster indicated we need a little more informatioin -- has paypal received the money and it hasn't been released to you because you are a new seller? Or is it an e-check that hasn't cleared yet? Or what exactly?
Also, I am a little confused -- what sort of "case" did you open on a buyer?

Does eBay show the dollar sign or the hourglass on the sold list?

Bad news, you will probably not be paid.

klassic, you read my mind. I don't know what sort of case the seller would be able to open for this. Op seems to indicate they received payment but it is pending.

As a new seller selling a high priced item this is a common scam. I am sorry this happened to you.
